Taking my first trip to Vegas in March. I was wondering how Poker Rooms make house money? Do they take a percentage of the rake or buy-in?

What is the lowest buy-in I will be ablt o find on Pot Limit Hold'em?

Its a rake... a certain percentage, usually 10% up to a certain amount (3-4 max usually). For more info on vegas poker rooms check out..

Thanks for the link Shane, that site will help me out alot. I'll be staying at MGM so it looks like the poker rooms at Excaliber, and Aladdin will be my closest stops.

If you are at MGM, the poker rooms at the Monte Carlo and Luxor are also close by. MB has a great poker room, but I don't recommend you start there unless you have played live poker somewhere else.

You are going to have a hard time finding pot limit holdem at all. Try Bellagio and Mirage, but these days, it's no-limit, baby! There are lots of no-limit games for $100 buyins. If you can find a game, I'd anticipated a $100 buy-in for pot limit as well.
