I saw that the American Casino Guide is reporting that Imperial Palace has openned 6 Texas Hold'Em tables on their third floor. The Imperial Palace website confirms that they have indeed openned a new 24 hour poker room.

Neither site mentioned anything about lessons, so I fired off a quick email to casino marketing. Lessons will be held Monday through Friday at 11AM.

Hope this information can benefit someone.

MIKEY!! The word 'headquarters' comes to mind!

Great info, glad to see the fever spread.

Ok! Six tables is a little small--but it's a good start. Even the Evil Empire has ditched their race book to make space for--get ready for it--a poker room!

The people have spoken! I just wish 3:2 blackjack would catch on like Texas Hold 'Em.

This is great news, I really enjoyed my stay at IP last month. I want to go back now!

I was just at the IP poker room last week. It's hot and it smells but there's usually a hottie cocktail waitress roaming around so it's not too bad -- kinda like the rest of the IP. There are six tables with 2/4 and 3/6 only. Friday night was the only time I saw all 6 tables full, and even then there was no wait to get in. On saturday night, me and 4 or 5 friends showed up and they opened an unused table for us.

Drink service is top notch, it seemed like I was getting a new beer everytime I had a sip or two left. They also have free water, coffee, sandwiches, danishes, and fruit.

I was talking to the brush and he said you get $3 comp dollars for every hour played. Here is some contact info for the Poker Manager:

I tried it last week and was impressed with the way it was run. And I was even more impressed by the lack of competition.
