I've been on about 5 days and I only have 1 friend that plays. I'm sitting at about 4500 LPs now. Is there potential for substantial gains or am I pretty much sol?

Also, what can you gift? Can you gift all of your LPs to a friend or any amount?

You can not gift what you have earned to other people. Once you get your hotels built you can earn a lot faster. My recommendation is to play low and build your hotels before betting a lot. I have my entire strip built and get 250 Lp every time I collect.

You are not SOL depending on how much time you have to play before you leave. I have been playing for 3 months and am about to go on a trip today redeeming 1 Mirage Tower Suite, 2 Bellagio Buffets, 1 Mirage Buffet, 2 Carrot Top Tickets and 4 Free Drinks at RHUMBAR. They have made it a lot harder to level up since they took down the chip shares but you can still join the Facebook Myvegas groups and get a lot of free chips.

Any other questions feel free to ask away!

Also I do not play like crazy!! Just when I have free time or when I am slow at work...just put it on the back ground of my computer and let it spin...check back every 5 minutes or so and do the bonus rounds.

My girlfriend has been playing for 4 days now as well. She refuses to spam her friends with MyVegas stuff, so she doesn't gain any of the friend bonuses. Shes at 9k LPs and level 25.
If you join the MyVegas Guides and friends group, there is a post on there that will get you a quick 50k in chips. She started with that and it got her to level 24 and 7k LPs on her first day. Since then its been pretty slow going as she typically only gets about 10k in chips from the daily spin and collecting from the strip twice a day. Once you get bellagio and excalibur built, it starts going faster as all the other casinos give less than 1k per collect on average.

I on the other hand have been playing three weeks and have been adding and spamming like crazy. I have already redeemed 50k Lps for a couple rewards and still have 20k left. On a typical day I get 20-40k chips from the spin, gifts, and collecting and usually earn 2-3k LPs per day.

Neither of us bother with the chips shares. With the new limits it takes way too long.

I also just want to add that while most people recommend playing less chips to get more LPs I think that time is money, and now that collecting from the strip is equal or more valuable than the chips shares, getting those casinos built as fast as possible would be optimal.

I realize that with only 10k in chips, betting 400 per spin leaves you open to getting wiped out with a bad run, but all those break even spins, and the occasional big win, can keep you playing for quite a while before going bust. And you level considerably faster. If you need to gain LPs fast, this is really the only chance you have.

It certainly does seem like the chip share limitations may have gone too far the other way. I'm not aware of many people who are actually bothering with it anymore. Clicking a link for 100-200 chips isn't worth the time spent finding links if they aren't bulk posted. Seems to me that limiting the redemptions per code AND the 20K per day limit is too much. Lowering the per day limit would probably have been the right move. The whole point of social media games is public sharing to spread the word.

I am by no means an expert. I have been playing since about Christmas, usually only in the evening after work. Collect the chips and play until they are gone. Two friends (who were playing before I started). I am at level 45 (been grinding on it for about a week) and 50k LPs. I am going in July, so just kind of playing to see what I can get for the trip out there, I started hoping for the Mirage Buffet pass, looks like I will be able to do that and some more.

I started a week before Xmas and stopped playing when all the craziness happened in Jan with the vegas friends pages getting taken down. So I probably played for maybe 4-5 weeks and got to level 70 with almost 80k lp's. My strategy was to build my chips up to like 250-300K and play Excalibur at 1500 a spin. I never went below 200K for the rest of time playing. I got my three comps and called it a day, so I cant complain, but it did take a chunk out of my free time for that month or so! Just be patient with it and you should be fine, just sucks they changed the chips form 50k to 20k a day now!

I would beg to differ that building properties as fast as possible is the most important thing now. If anything, maximizing the amount of LP's you earn per chips spent is the best way to go as chips are harder to gain. You do this by betting 200 per spin and only 200 per spin. As well, you earn the most LP's when you are level 58 and lower. You want to stay under that level for as long a possible to maximize how much you earn. Speed through the first 58 levels and you will have missed A LOT of LP's.

The basic idea of the game is that the more you play through the more LPs you will earn... so if you have 10,000 chips and basically play 5 spins at 2000 each you aren't going to get very far since you aren't getting any long sustained play out of it.

The properties are great if you have no chips at all because you can come in and when you can collect from all of them you'll get a few thousand in chips, if you have a lot of chips then the properties don't mean too much to you unless you get LPs off them.

Once you get to a certain point in levels you will gain 1000 LPs every time you level up... you are still going to have a ways to go, but with lots of play you can get there.

That only betting 200 chips per spin thing is the most efficient way of playing for coin through versus LPs earned... but I think you have to look at time versus LPs earned as well: it takes me 6 spins at 2000 chips to get your LP or 30 spins at 200 chips to get your LP.

So that works out to 12,000 chips played through for my LPs versus 6,000 - so definitely more cost effective chip-wise to bet 200, but it takes me 5 times as many spins to get there. Most of these games play at a rate of 720 spins per hour so that means by betting 200 chips per spins I can collect LPs only 24 times an hour... by betting 2000 chips per spin I can collect LPs 120 times an hour.

by betting 2000 chips per spin I can collect LPs 120 times an hour.

You would have needed to have been banking chips for quite a bit when there were no restrictions for that level of play to be sustainable. I joined only 3 weeks before the restrictions came into effect and still was able to blast through the 50,000 chips per day at 200 per spin and 1 of those 3 weeks I as in Vegas so I missed a lot of opportunity there and don't have a bankroll of chips now as I'm sure many others don't either.

What about the BJ? Good or bad for LPs? Same optimum per hand?

I was never part of those Facebook pages and only my wife and 1 other FB friend plays MyVegas and I don't trade chips with either of them.

I'd be thinking: if whatever game you are playing is just sucking up your chips and you aren't able to win and build up a bankroll then maybe you should try a different game.

Personally, I can't get ahead in New York New York or Studio City... so I don't play them, as an example.

I don't disagree that 200 per spin is the most efficient chip/LP ratio, and in the past this was optimal strategy. But with the new restrictions, the value of the daily spin and casino collections is much higher.

Lets assume two relatively new players, who are at level 30 after grinding through the first 50k we can easily get via coupon links. We are willing to play 1 hour a day maximum, and we are not willing to spend 2 hours waiting like vultures trying to collect chip shares before everyone else.

10 Million chips in is level 58. Where both players will need to spin at 1000 for optimal results and will collect Lp's at the same rate from that point on.

In that time player 1 has earned 45k Lps @ 200 per spin. Player 2 has earned 16k Lps @ 1000 per spin. So player 1 gains 29k Lp's on play alone up to the point where the betting is the same.

But here's the difference. Player 2 was able to build his casinos earlier, giving him more chips per day, and the higher levels give an extra 25% more chips on the daily spin on average. The rate at which he advances through the levels and gets his casinos built is exponentially faster.

I'm not even going to try the math, but lets assume that player 2 gets all of casinos built 2 months faster than player 1 (I know this seems like a long time, but remember that we're not getting 50k extra chips per day anymore.)

Lets also assume that these extra casinos give out about 500Lp's per day on average if harvested 3 times per day. 500 * 60 = 30,000Lp's .

So now player 2 has actually received 1000 more Lp's than player 1 and that isnt factoring in any of the additional bonus they receive on the daily spin the odd time they land on the LPs

Does filling a suitcase on Around the World do anything of value? Or are they just pointless?

I think some of the games do have pointless items, for example on Bet the Farm you get outbuildings, a pond and a windmill awarded when you Bet the Farm. They just take up space and don't seem to add any value to the game.

Get a chip bonus when it fills up.

Get a chip bonus when it fills up.

Is that the random (what I thought was random) bonuses that pop up with the icon that says you got XXXX chips?

well,
i'm on level 45, done the friends thing (130), but only been playing a few weeks, did buy some chips too, but find the wins very frequent, or betting say 3000 chips on Excal to pick up wins of 60 or 100 chips (which is always a big loss!)

Seems a great idea, but the win cycle for me casts a shadow on how i think MGM operate there machines (ready for when i get there in May)
