Has anybody tried the "progressive loss" system for blackjack betting? The premise is to double your bet after every loss but after a win go back to the minimum. The concept is simple, but if you lose 6 or seven hands in a row it can get scary. have used this system with some success. Any other stories? Intersted to hear...

I've tried that system when playing with friends at home. I was split about 50/50 between breaking even and going broke fast, which is a failure in my book. It was fun to test the theory at home, but I have not had the nerve to try it in the casino.

The trick to that system is you have to have a large bankroll to start. You need to be able to cover "natural" streaks of bad cards. There are several craps versions of this and they require even more bankroll.
I have tried that way before, and it worked once out of three times. I just didn't like losing 5 in a row and betting $160 to get back $5 . But some people swear by that method. If I play BJ anymore, 5, 7, 10, 15, 22, 33 etc...If I lose, I go back to 5 and if I win, I keep bumping up half... Does well, and lets me play for awhile. smile.gif
