Hey Skeelover...
Welcome aboard! This is the type of question for Patti in Ontario--she's always up on the discounted rooms and such. (I think she's away this week, however). In the interim, go to travelaxe.com and download their search thingy. It searches the best rates from all of the major discounters and creates a list of all the properties available and the best rates.
"Sometime in June" is pretty broad, so play with it for awhile and get a feel for the rates.

Check everywhere and check often. Prices go up and down.....sometimes hourly! You may find it to be fun or you may find it to be a drag but the vigilent find good deals. Watch the LA Times deals above too.

Wow!
Have to say, I took Mikey's advice and downloaded the Travelaxe search tool. Very impressive application! That sucker's really useful. Too late to use for this trip, but I'll keep it in mind for future trips (to whereever they may be).
THANKS!
Ken

If your timing is flexible, what I do is go to places that show their rate calendar (luxor, bally's, even fitzgeralds downtown). You can see the rate fluctuations and get an idea for a week that is not particularly busy. Cross-checking hotels in different locations helps because there may be a small convention at one that doesn't affect another.
And as Jimbo said, keep checking back. Almost every time I've went, room rates at the place I'm staying dropped 1-2 weeks before scheduled arrival, and the hotel has always rebooked me at the lower rate if I call beforehand.
A word on Travelaxe, which is a great tool, it often fails to beat the deals the hotel sends to folks on it's mailing list (which you can sign up for on their website), but occasionally it comes up with rock bottom rates (such as Orleans in December).
