We are planing of checking out a couple of established LV shows, but I wouldn't mind a music gig, is there a website that shows one-off gigs/concerts?

Thanks smile.gif

http://www.vegas.com/shows/ You can search for what type of entertainment you're looking for, including the time frame to search. Does on going shows, bands/one time gigs, lounge acts, magic, etc.

http://www.lvrj.com/lvrj_home/neon/ is the link for the newspaper entertainment section--another post said it comes out on Fridays and you should try to get a copy to look for "locals only" coupon deals. But you can look online for entertainment ideas in advance. They also have the Players Edge column which I enjoy.

Billhere's weekly newsletter has a listing of upcoming shows every so often as well. www.billhere.com (http://www.billhere.com)

Another source is: www.lvol.com (http://www.lvol.com)
Look for Entertainment; Headliners etc.

Thanks guys, I've taken a look, unfortunately the 12th to 18th March doesn't look too promising for gig's for someone my (less than!) side of 30 :(

Wow, I'm surprised no one is playing for St Patrick's Day. At least you can watch the Parade!! My mom was married on St Patrick's Day last year, we watched the parade from Fremont Street (the parade goes down Main Street? at one end of Fremont Street) It was fun. You know you're in Vegas when Elvis in green velvet and shamrocks goes by smile.gif

We didn't really do a lot in the St Patrick's theme, though I noticed most of the bars & casinos on Fremont street had green beer and/or other St Patrick's day related themes. Especially Fitzgerald's, as you might imagine (I do NOT drink green beer, though) The parade seemed decent sized. I noticed on the www.vegas.com (http://www.vegas.com) website they do have a section of entertainment etc for "St. Patrick's Day" Maybe they've consolidated and added events/concerts since the last time you checked.....

re: green beer

It is quite gross. Want to hear something even more gross? Don't say I didn't warn you! Back in the day when we used to go out and party down for St Paddy's Day, we would go to this pub that served the green beer. At the end of the night there'd always be some green vomit in the parking lot or bathroom. That and if you drink enough of it.. well.. uh.. (blushes) redface.gif you pee green.. which can be a real eye opener the morning after. tongue.gif

Actually, a college roommate's bad experience with green beer (and the visible aftermath) is the reason I don't drink green beer! If I must drink green, I'll have a margarita, thank you

Do they still dye the river in Chicago green? smile.gif

Yep! They still dye the river in Chicago green. I think it stays a little green all year, but it's a bright green on St. Patrick's Day.

Some of the irrigation ponds around here are green, but that's because they put a copper compound in it (I think it's to discourage algae growth) Oh, I love St Patrick's Day!!!
