Anyone have opinions on area golf courses? We're looking for a place that's not too expensive and that can rent clubs out.

LV Terry can answer this better than I can. He's the resident golf expert. Give him a few days.. hopefully he'll let you know as soon as he's back here. smile.gif

Madrid,

look under misc. vegas chat....there should be a "fun things in vegas without gambling" thread in there. Has lots of good golf info.

I'm an expert! woohoo! hahahaha now if only my game were expert. heeheehee

Yes, check the post that schirkai notes, it has lots of info. After reading it, let me know if there are any questions I can answer.

One thing to note: courses in Vegas change their grass twice a year...they actually change the type of grass for summer and winter. The switch to summer grass is under way right now. If you are not going for a month or so, you should be home free...if sooner than that, you should call the course(s) you decide on, and ask them what the condition of the grass is. You don't want to be paying $100 a round and find out the grass isn't fully in yet.

Most of the courses rent clubs, I would be surprised if you found one that didn't.

Be sure to let me know if I can help!

T.

I read your post about Callaway Center, so I put that one on my list. We might go play a quick 9 holes or hit a bucket if we decide not to play 18. We were shooting for under $100, so I've mainly been scoping out the city courses instead of private. Have you heard anything about Desert Rose or Las Vegas Golf club? They seem to have good green fees.

Also, thanks for the good tip about the grass. I'll be sure to check before we reserve a time!
