Does anyone know exactly why they shut down the rides? What have they done with all that extra space?

Vegas needs a really good theme park.

I heard they wanted to use that space for something that generated more profit. Too bad, there was good stuff in there, especially for kids. If anyone was going to Vegas with kids, I always advised them to stay at the MGM. With the dollars generated per square foot of casino space, and the fact that no matter how many rooms they build in Vegas it still sells out, I guess I can see why they might do something else with that space....I'm just not sure how well it would do since the park was a good ways off the strip.

That's a good question. What did they do with that space? Did they build part of the Mansion there?

I'm guessing it was $$ that shut down the park. They felt they could make more money by closing it.

AdventureDome at Circus Circus is the only theme park there now. It's pretty good, but weak compared to Southern California parks.

Yeah I figured it was money, the adventure dome is pretty weak and not really worth the money. It's to bad there's no more visionarys left in this world like Walt Disney. He built Disneyland for peoples pleasure, not to become rich. Even in todays world Disneyland is tight on the buck.

thanks for the info, it would just be nice to catch some cool rides after all the drinking and thrills vegas has to offer. Maybe they will build that surf park after all.
