NYNY Casino renovation

Anybody been in the NYNY lately? I am wondering how the renovation is coming along for my October 26th visit....after years of staying there (I dunno why, we just like the place for some reason), I was finally getting the pathways down--the ingenius spirograph design kept me wandering , especially late at night....

We were there in Aug & it was a mess. There was just a TR posted this week by someone who usually stays at NYNY but chose another hotel this trip & said was glad they did. Said it was still horrible. Wonder how much they can get done in the next 2 weeks? Good luck!

I have heard that all the renovations were to be finished by the end of September. I hope so, I will be staying at the NYNY next week.

I went thru NYNY in early September and the outer areas were all complete. They were still working on the area in the center of the casino where the cashier was previously located. I really liked the new look and will be happy to stay there again when it it complete.

I'm curious about this as well. We were booked at NYNY for end of October but I cancelled and booked Monte Carlo instead. I didn't want to chance it. But if it complete, or nearly so, I may rebook NYNY.

The Cahiers Cage area is complete, but I got tired of dipsy doodling around the boarding that takes up the whole center of the casino floor, as they build the ROK nightclub. Not sure when it opens...

Personally, I like the New York City theme...trees, etc. better.

I will be staying to NYNY next weekend. Looking forward to seeing the next place (even though it is not completely done). I will make sure I post when I get back!

The construction wall in the middle of thew casino IS annoying, and not very pretty. They are building a new bar there, where the old cashier's cage used to be. The new center bar will add much needed bar area due to the closure of the Big Apple bar where the new High Limit Tables and Slot rooms now reside. There are ROK ads all over the constuction wall, but they are just ads, the club has been open for a few months, and is located where Rita Rudners Cabaret theatre used to be.

When I was staying at the NYNY a few weeks ago I peeked into the construction area and it looked like they were constructing more of the "wavy" overhead decorations that are over there new table areas. I would hope that they are also building a bar - they do need to replace the big apple bar.

I will try to take some photos inside the construction area when I am out there next week and post them here.

The last of the wavy overhead pit canopies are finished, with the final pit scheduled to come online in the next few days. The construction wall now only encompasses the bar construction area. I've seen the renderings of the new bar, looks quite nice :)

That sounds great! Do you know when the bar is supposed to be completed?

LOL!! I laugh only because it was supposed to be completed months ago.. the new target completion date is by New Years. I peeked in the construction area a few days ago and the actual bar structure is being worked on, so that date IS realistic.
