So many new subscribers have joined us recently that I agree with the member who e-mailed to suggest that I post a few words about posting protocol here in T2V.
When you are initiating a topic, please try as hard as you can to post it to the forum that is most suitable for your topic. Sonya has established forums to cover almost every possible Las Vegas (or non-Vegas) subject, and it shouldn't be difficult to find the appropriate match for the subject you are writing about.
Among other things, the moderators have authority to move a discussion topic to a more appropriate forum if they think more folks will benefit from finding it there. So if this happens to one your threads, you will hopefully understand why it has been done.
I try to take a liberal approach to my own forum, which is supposed to deal with legitimate news items, current events, etc. If I think a topic someone has started would be more suitable for another forum, I still may leave it in mine if there is even a slight rationale for keeping it there. But in some cases, I will move the topic and try to notify the writer of what I did.
An example: If someone has just returned from Las Vegas and wants to tell us about a great buffet s/he experienced, I'd be likely to move it. While it may be a piece of interesting news, it really isn't a news item per se.
And by the way, if you have a suggestion for a new forum to cover a subject area that we have overlooked, I know Sonya will want to hear from you.
