Well it's midnight where I live, and I think my wife is having a mid-life crisis.

She says, hey "can you ask those internet guys, if there are any strategies for sneaking into the Golden Nugget pool" ?

Uh, why don't you just unbook us from the Fremont and book us in the Golden Nugget ?

She says, "No, I want to try the Fremont, and I want to try and sneak into the pool at the Golden Nugget, so ask your buddies there if anyone knows how hard it will be to sneak into the pool"

I says, I'm 275 lbs and 5foot3, the only thing I can successfully sneak into the the hippo enclouser at the Calgary Zoo.

She says "Shut up, who's paying for this trip anyway, you ask"

So I ask, what are the chances someone can sneek into the pool at the Golden Nugget. Do you think the slot club desk would hand out a couple of passes, if gamed there for a while first ?

Anyone want to assume the mortgage on a 40 year old hot flashing, lady that want to re-live her teenage years?

all your wife has to do is wear some sexy stuff and hang around the bar in the nugget and strike up enough conversation with a man till he gives her a room key. instead of meeting the man in the room she uses the key to go to the pool.

really not that hard if your wife has the right ammunition.

why not cut short your stay at the fremont by a day and book into the nugget for one night?

They do have 2-3 table games out on the pool deck. If I were thinking along the lines of your missus, I'd tell them I wanted to play on one of those tables to get past the key-checking security.

Staying downtown, hotel rooms are among the least of the expenses. Double book for a night, Fremont and GN.

I walked by the pool area in October and 3 guys were wanting to get into the pool area. They were fairly drunk and making a scene because security wouldn't let them into the pool area.

Go with everyone's advice. Book a night at the Nugget.

Your best chance might be that a Message Board member will stay there when you're in town and get you in.

Other than that....I'd book a room there.

On our last trip about a month ago, they asked the four of us for room keys and we said that we would like to just look around and he said OK. We were not in bathing attire.

Hubby says we just showed our room cards at GN, they didn't scan them. But I thought they were scanned. Oh well-one of us has a faulty memory.

There is a bar by the pool at GN too--might be able to get there.

But, like I recommed to anyone when they ask a pool question--if it's that important, stay at that hotel:thumbsup: We're hoping to get back to GN in February for a couple days.....

when I was there in July, we walked over to see the pool, and security actually held the door for us...I was pushing my mom in her wheelchair. But they never asked for ID, just helped us by holding the door for us.

It's a 3-story thing now, with cabanas on the top two decks, a water slide that goes through the middle of a genuine shark tank. Big sharks too, not just the little ones.

And a huge (20 person?) cloverleaf shaped hot tub, new bar, lounging beds, and a shallow area where the lounge chairs are in the water.

Of course, there's no breathing room anymore, but it's pretty to look at.....

when there a couple weeks ago, we were doing the huge frozen daiquiri tour at freemont, and wanted to check out the shark tank thing. it was probably 9pm. just followed the signs, and went right out. pool was closed obviously, but we took the elevator all the way up to the top with the cabanas and sat there and drank for over an hour LOL no one even walked by...it was deserted.

After the pool itself closes, the area is open to the general public. I've been there several times this past year in the evening and never been asked for a room key.
I still think it would be the perfect place for MM5ers to kick back and relax on a Sunday night.
I would not try to go there when pool is open. That's not fair to guests paying to stay there.

A pal of mine mentioned to me that non-registered guest folks can purchase access to the pool for $10 per adult. The wifey phoned to the golden nugget and confirmed so it looks like she will get to swim with the sharks without risking a tresspass charge.
