They used to get posted here and I know we used a couple in the past.

Phil stopped sending them quite a while ago. At first I wasn't getting them every week, and then they stopped altogether. I heard that the LA Times doesn't have the travel section ads like they used to, but I don't read that paper and can't confirm that.

It's a shame too because it was a wonderful resource!

The LA Times has zero ads. They moved the Vegas ads from the Travel section to another part of the paper and the hotels slowly started to pull their ads. They do get a big ad for Vegas.com but that is it.
My local paper here in the LA area does get some pretty good ones though. If I see something that looks good, I will post it. :)

I think what happened is this, the internet. The hotels get their special deals out on the internet. It is easier and cheaper for them and it reaches more people

From an editorial perspective the Times' travel section has significantly upped its Vegas coverage, with a feature-length article every Sunday. The advertorial content appears to be way down, and if that is the case the ad line would be way down.

I guess maybe it's a combination of all of the above. It seemed like that's where the really cheap Orleans deals were posted in the past. I remember getting rooms for $29 once and I believe it was an LA times deal.

I don't recall the particulars, but I once got terrific LA Times deals at the Orleans and IP that I didn't see posted anywhere else. All I had to do was call and quote the listed code. I wonder how many similar deals are out there that we might be missing.
