Hi, I just found this message board today - wish I'd known about it weeks ago! Such great information.
I am planning our 1st trip to Vegas. DH is going to Photoshop World Sept. 5-8 and I get to tag along. The conference is at Mandalay Bay, but we're staying at the Luxor next door (and saving $300 compared to the cost of a Mandalay Bay stay). We were going to rent a car, but have changed our mind and will be relying on the buses, shuttles and our own two feet to get around.
I've been scouring the internet and checked out many guides from the library, culling tips and information. I have my travel notebook filled with information and ideas. This message board has already helped me - I was worried about how to print out our boarding pass on Friday for our SWA flight on Saturday - didn't want to have to pay for a shuttle or taxi to the airport just to do that - then I saw Hammie's post about checking in on his Blackberry and just printing the boarding pass at the airport. Thanks Hammie! My stress level just went WAY down.
I'm very excited about this trip - it's a much needed mini-vacation and we've wanted to go to Vegas for awhile. Can't wait to discover more fun and frugal ideas here and get to know you all better.
