I'm still looking for our hotel for 8/28-9/1
SO far the best deal we've found is the Imperial Palace which is right in the middle of the strip. We've stayed there before and LOVE the location and just need a safe place to sleep. Do you use any sites to book thru when you head to Vegas?

I prefer to book directly thru the hotel's website, just because if they offer a lower rate down the road, then I can cancel and rebook at the lower rate.
If you are in the group that just wants to find low rate at a nice hotel and get the details of the trip all squared away (and do not care about possibly getting something taken off the room rate due to your play while your there) then the travel websites listed on the left , Expedia, Travelocity, etc are a good place to start.
You can also download the software TravelAxe (http://www.travelaxe.com) which searches alot of other sites for low rates and compares them for you. Myself, I use it just to get a feel for rates, but have never booked something thru the software.

Hi Mary,
I'm looking right now for the end of July. I have been checking on rates over the last few months and have been using http://www.casinotripreports.com/vegas and http://www.vegas-promotions.com
They both list a lot of promos - I think the layout of the vegas-promotions site is better, but the casinotripreports site has a larger list and has some that are not directly from the hotels.

www.kayak.com for flights. It does hotels as well.

If you don't want to jump sites, the list of hotel discounts is pretty good right here at vegasmessageboard.com / travel2vegas.com
I've found and booked some of my best non-players club deals from here.

I agree with Shock. I use TravelAxe to check rates then typically book direct through the hotel. I have booked through TravelAxe for 1/3 of my impending trip, but just did that because I will not attain any RFB comps so it just doesn't matter to me. I felt like $40/night at the IP was not going to go down and just didn't feel like calling the IP and working out a direct deal with them when I can just enter the cc number and hit a couple of keys.
