View Full Version : BED CHOICE

Here's a problem I never thought about before. I have always gone to LV alone so bed size was irrelevant. I am going alone in February but returning with my teenage daughter in April. I have started shopping for a good room rate, but regardless of price I am running into the clause that bed preference is noted but not guaranteed.
Often the choice is king or twin doubles. Twin doubles would be ideal but I hate to make reservations months in advance to get to a hotel and find that there is only a king size bed available. I suppost they would then offer to put in a rollaway for an additional cost. Not acceptible. Ironically, the "bargain" hotels can guaranted 2 beds but both strip and downtown hotels have the availability clause.
Does anyone have any experiences along this line or advice? I'd appreciate it.

I find that normally when you request it, you will get it. If they offer a roll a way at AN EXTRA cost. I would tell that that is not acceptable and that you refuse to pay for it. If they wont budge, speak to a manager. Or you could call a 2 days before your reservation and check to see if they are filling on doubles. If they tell you they still have plenty, then thats good, if they say that they are filling on them, you may wanna check other hotels, just stay with in the cancelation policy, or u will have to pay weather you want to or not.

In my experience, the rooms with King beds are what the hotels run out of....at 6'4", I've run into that a few times, but they always have the two bed rooms available.
just my personal experience...

I believe that you are both right. I wuld think that the king size bed would be the popular one.
Just after I posted the original message I called the Sahara and talked with a very nice gal named AMY (give her a raise Sahara bosses). she stated that they note your preferences and honor them if avaialable at check in. I asked what would happen if no twin doubles were available? She stated that they would bring in a rollaway bed. I asked if there would be a charge for this and she said no. I also asked if there was a charge for refrigerators in the rooms if requested and she stated that there was not.
Thanks for your replies,
Jim

Usually I end up with two beds when I want one. smile.gif I can't think of a time that we weren't able to get two beds when we needed them.
I think you'll be fine. I wish my Dad would have taken me to Vegas. I just got to go to grandmas or hawaii or golf tournaments. Boring! :D
