Has anyone had any difficult using dedicated conference rates for booking.
Using the Aladdin rates for my dates 24th/25th November gave $149 and $99 but there is an Educational Conference at Paris that week with a rate of $111 per night.
The link is:-

and I have booked without any apparent problems - only saves $26 plus tax but it varies the trip a little. But I just wondered whether some sort of accreditation might be required?

I don't understand, you are trying to get the conference rate at the Alladin for a conference that is at Paris? They are owned by 2 different companies.
And normally, when I get conference rates at hotels I have to go through the conference's web site or call the hotel directly.

I think searby is saying he'd stay at Paris instead of Aladdin to vary his trip a little.
We've stayed at Luxor on conference rates (I checked all around right up to the day we left for better rates but it was a packed week) and nothing conference-related was required at check-in. We booked through our convention group but confirmed directly with the hotel immediately before we left for the trip.

OK, now I understand what you are saying. I'm just a little slow.:drooling:
I have never been asked to "prove it" when staying at a hotel using conference rates. Not in LV, and not anywhere else. They may give you some info at check-in about what meetings will be held when and where, or where to register or something like that, but just nod you head and say thanks, and that is the last you'll hear about it.

Hoya is right of course and my English was not too good! Probably not the right sort of delegate for an Education conference LOL.
I thought for the small saving it would be nice to spend a couple of nights at the Paris and see what $20 may bring.

i am surprised you are finding any saving using "conference" rates! any trade shows we have ever attended, the official rates are high, high, high! even when we have stayed at one of the host hotels, during the trade shows, like hilton and rio, we have always gotten lots better deals on our own, and even in air/hotel packages, than using the official rates.
always thought they jacked the prices for those meeting groups because the group is in business during the day, and not in the casino.

The saving I mentioned was compared with the Aladdin rate. In fact the Paris site shows no Friday arrivals but rates of $159; $209 and $169 for Thursday Friday and Saturday so $111.00 AND a Friday arrival is a very good deal.
