$20 trick at the Flamingo works

Holy Crap it works! Thanks to everyone that wrote to me before I left.

I'll include all the details in my trip report once the cobweb clear......

My 20 got me a mini suite thats bigger then my apartment in San Diego.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I checked in at the airport. I drove in from San Diego, but my buddies flew in, so I used the airport check-in while I waited for their flight to land.
I handed her the $20 with my ID and credit card and asked if she could please check to see if there were any free upgrades available. She took my ID and credit card but left the 20 on the counter, so I wasn't expecting too much. She asked what I was looking for, and I told her something like a mini-suite. There were 3 guys staying in the room so it's not like I needed a jacuzzi(sp?) suite.
She gave me a mini-suite (which was bigger then my 500 square foot studio apartment) on the 21st floor of the newly renovated section.
For the $55 dollars a night we were spending, we were stoked!

WOW thanks for the info I can't wait until I get out there I am starting to get things together already. only a few more weeks and i will be in heavin sitting at the tables dreaming of becomming a millionair.
