You don't see the Yankees in the playoffs at all? I hope you're right, but unless their pitching staff simultaneously develop osteoarthritis (given their age, it's gotta be a concern) they'll be a wildcard at least.
NL EAST-ATLANTA
Nah, this'll never happen.

Don't forget the Houston Astros!!!
Gotta like the lack of Yankees in those perdictions. I'm sure George wouldn't be too happy with that outcome, but I don't concern myself with what George thinks.

lol i hate the yankee's and even if they were the best team in baseball on paper, i would never predict them to win anything (karma) when the yankees can build a team instead of buying one, then i will say they accomplished something, but until then, they are paper champions in my opinion, as well as many others that won championships by buying other teams stars keeping them from contension and always keeping the same teams in contention every year for the most part.

The Indians took 2 out of 3 from the White Sox. Good start.

As a loyal Red Sox fan, I can't help but agree with everything you wrote. However, I am well aware that my team is the second highest paid!! Now that the Yankees have Johnny Damon, I really hope they bomb. Jerk said he would never wear pinstripes..............

LVlady, i figured you would agree with me being a sox fan and i am also glad you mentioned the sox huge payroll. i have a softspot in my heart for the bo-sox. i will always root for the bo-sox as long as they dont play my beloved indians. i have got to get to fenway before they tear it down, and i hear there closer then ever to a new stadium deal. i love the new modern parks like jacobs field and camden yard, but fenway is fenway, i say keep it.

Mogey,
Fenway will be there for a long while, don't worry about it. The new owners thought they would buy the team and have the tax payers build them a new stadium. Ya right! Little did they know that the owners from the Celtics, Bruins and Patriots had to finance their new stadiums with their own money.
Fenway has been going through a yearly face-lift change every off season due to the fact that these owners will not pay and cannot pay for a new stadium by themselves.
So take your time cause Fenway will be there for a LOOOONG while.

Not this year. The world series is coming back to Boston. Now I have said this for many years, I have also said at the start of Hockey season, that the Bruins will win the Stanley Cup........Haven't been right but once....The whole thing is about believing it can happen.............
I predict this Baseball season will be as boring as all the others!

I think you are boring...and I am tired of it. If you do not like baseball and it is obvious that you don't please refrain form posting in a message about BASEBALL and trying to to stir up trouble.

Ok the 1st 2 copies were for free, starting now there is a $2000 charge to copy my avatar!! Hey might as well make some money while it's hot!!! Just kidding no problem.
I'll put my check in the mail :). Will you be at Fenway tomorrow? I'll be there, pulling for the home team.
For the person who worries that Fenway is going away, I'll second the notion that it isn't going anywhere. They have done major renevations each of the past several years and have plans to continue renovating up until the 2012 season (which would be the 100 year anniversary of the park).

Dave unfortunately I have a day full of conference calls so I will not be able to attend the festivities. My friend who has season tix called me last week and wanted to know if I could go but unfortunately I will be listening in to calls all day. But if there is a silver lining I will be working from home which will allow me to take the conference calls from my couch while the game is on!
Have fun watching Beckett in his Fenway debut!!!

Season tickets for the Boston Red Sox would be a dream come true! Your friend is lucky. I live in central Indiana so If I want to watch an MLB game in person, I have to go to Chicago or Cincinnati. Go SOX Go!

Heat, you can always hit victory field in downtown indianapolis. HANDS DOWN the best minor league ballpark in the country.

My wife, kids, and I go to victory field at least 10 times a season. There is just something different about watching an MLB game instead of a AAA game...Know what I mean? And yes, I agree... Victory Field is an awesome minor league park!

Is it me, or is the red-and-white glare on this thread a bit overbearing?:poke:
As a lifelong Yankees fan (sold ever since I watched from the 3rd base line Guidry pitch game 3 of the '78 Series at the Stadium), can honestly say the Yanks this year have the most potent lineup I have ever seen (even more than the '78 Red Sox). Having said that, I think our Beantown fans have a point- the pitching staff is aging. But the Yankees don't have all their eggs in one basket- the Sox and the Jays are one disabled ace away from mediocrity. Look for the Yankees to blow away the division with 95+ 10-7 wins, only to be "challenged" in the postseason by an opposing pitching staff firing on all cylinders.
A fun decision for me on non-work days is what year's "World Series Champions" Yankees tee shirt to don that day....:poke:

Because I'm a "nice" Red Sox fan, I opted to go with a little red and blue instead of red and white.

Mogey, your predictions should come with a surgeon general's warning. I've known you for years and you have yet to be right one single time about anything sports related.
Secondly, saying you're not a homer because you're not from the mistake by the lake is absurd lol. You know that your NFL prediction for the next 30 years is the Browns. Your NBA prediction is the Cavs. And, I'm sure as hell not shocked by your MLB prediction. Not a homer my ass. I should boot you from the Eleven Losers for that crap. Or the new name for next year: Cleveland Sucks.
Baseball isn't a sport anyway. Designated hitter? Ridiculous. 15 day DL? Wussies. Unless Ty Cobb himself comes back, I'm out.
And I love all the Red Sox band wagon jumpers too. You spent a ton of money for years to try and win. You're no different than the evil Yankees, they were just better at it.
I hate the Yankees, but I hate Red Sox fans more. I just hope the Cubs keep losing too. It's much more fun to hear about them losing than to have to listen to the crap after they finally win.
The NFL can't get here soon enough.

Mogeyboy,
So far, my BoSox lead the series 1-0. Tonight the game is on ESPN so I finally get to see a televised game. Good luck and I will be hoping for another win!
