Surprising my wife with a trip to Vegas in April on our anniversery. I'd like to book a "simple" renewal ceremony. All the packages seem to be more than I want. A minister and us would fit the bill. Any suggestions?

we went to a drive thru chapel for our renewal of vows. We thought it would deliciously cheesy, which it kind of was, but we got all sappy and sentimental anyway. They can drive you through, or you can use their little chapel. On the travel channel or somethign like that, that showed a ceremony at the place we used with a couple in the car. The same minister read very similar vows :)

it was a fun expereince.

My husband and I got married last year at the Little Chapel of the West. It was a great place. It wasn't too big and had that little chapel feel. check out the website then give them a call, they worked with us to give us what we wanted even though it was out of the box from the packages they normally offered.

We renewed after 25 years in Sept 2004 at the Chappel of the Bells. Very nice service, easy to deal with and exactly as promised. Nice to know we had the same taste as Clark and Ellen Griswald!

We were married last year at The Las Vegas Garden of Love. After we booked it I was scared that it was going to be a total joke of a wedding. I cannot begin to tell you how tasteful and beautiful the ceremony was. Just the right mix of traditional and Vegas. I know they do renewal of vows. They picked us up in a limo at our hotel took us to the courthouse to get the license and to The Garen of Love to tour and pick out the chapel of our choice. Then they picked us up again in a limo for the ceremony all for $100.00. (tips to limo driver and photographer and videographer and minister not included!) It did include a picture disc and a video of the ceremony.
I have read some terrible reviews of this place, but our experience was fabulous. We were married on a Thursday at 4:00. I have no idea if that makes a difference or not. Maybe they are really busy and things get hectic on the weekends.

We got married at Little Chapel of the Flowers located across the street from the Statosphere. We were extremely happy with everything, the ceremony, location and service.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced chapel that is still classy then I would highly recommend this place. They also have a beautiful outdoor area for pictures. They have several different priced packages for renewal ceremonies, but their basic package is $195 +$60 for the minister :

I personally don't have first hand experience of the wedding chapels but I did watch the series about the Las Vegas Garden of Love. They had every kind of wedding you could want. From a small wedding with only the bride and groom present to huge parties.

The thing I liked was that the woman Cheryl who owns it had a dream as a child to own a chapel for people to get married in. She raised her brother's two sons when his wife left him and he went off the rails. She is a lovely woman with a genuine desire for people to have the perfect day.

That version of the chapel is now gone, moved to a new location just northerly of Stratosphere.

The local papers -- and even Playboy -- had some interesting things to say about the owner of this chapel and others several years ago in conjunction with what I called couple-mining in my book. People who claimed to represent chapels -- though the chapels wisely tried to be arms-length when the tape recorders were rolling -- were very aggressively competing for the business of couples down at the license bureau. It got so bad that fights broke out between chapel "reps" and one chapel owner reputedly put a hit out on another.

One of the things I try to make clear in my book is that the business of love is first and foremost a business. I was floored during my research and chapel visits to experience firsthand how childish and downright nasty are some of the owner/operators of some of the most recognized chapels. That's not cynical nor does it take away from the joy and fun of a Vegas wedding, but forewarned is forearmed.

One chapel in town recently reached out to try to form a trade association for the industry -- yes, the 50-odd chapels never got to the point of realizing that all pulling on the oars at the same time is the best strategy. I hope that takes.

we got married there also in september 2003 it was a sunday night at 8pm and it wasn't bad at either. We booked the $100.00 package deal, and they ended up taking over 100 pictures for no extra charge. We were on there homepage for a bit. (not anymore). they were going to pick us up at the hotel to get our marriage license but my husband wanted to "drop by" to see what it really looked liked, and it was fine... then they took us in a limo to get our license.
we really enjoyed it and we had about 15 people with us, now they did have a wedding right before us, so they were still in there.. but my father in law had a great time with them also
