I too would like to know about the Stardust. I also snagged a great rate of $40 CANADIAN per night. Can't beat the price!

I don't have any pictures of the stardust rooms as I haven't stayed there and nobody has sent me any. smile.gif But you can find a good review here - http://www.cheapovegas.com/stardust.html

I think that the Rick Thomas magic show is around $20 per person. You might find 2-for-1 coupons in front of the casino too. Also some of the comedy places are about that price.

Hi:
Rick James Magic is one of the best values and best secrets in Las Vegas. I have seen it and is awesome. Reviews I have checked lack a single negative comment. He keeps the show going from beginning to end with enthusiasm and great talent. I was prepared to see how he did all the illusions sitting 3 seats from the stage. Not!
Wish I could turn white tigers into beautiful women!
I won a free ticket at the free slot pull in front of the Tropicana but am taking my daughter to see the show in April (it was that good). show dates are Monday-thursday at 2 & 4PM; Prices are $16.95 and 21.95 but as Sonya pointed out there are coupons in the free magazines for discounts or 2 for 1 entry. Bring your camara, Rick is generous with his time and likes to meet the audience at the conclusion of the show or pose with you!

Travelocity.Com has reviews for different hotels from people who have stayed there. The reviews for the Stardust weren't all that favorable, it actually made me shy away from them and they were my top pick. I think people are more apt to complain than to applaud so maybe the Stardust isn't too bad. I can't give an opinion though because I haven't ever stayed there.

Ratevegas.com has a number of positive reviews of the tower rooms.

I think that a lot of the older hotels get negative reviews because people are expecting new rooms for $29 at a hotel built in 1950. smile.gif The new tower at Stardust has decent rooms for a decent price. It's not my favorite place in town, but we've been there a few times to play and eat. I find the casino ceiling a little low in areas and that makes it feel a little too smokey for my tastes, but I wouldn't tell someone not to stay there based on that alone.

My wife and I were at Stardust in March of 2001. We had a room in the new tower about 25 floors up and facing the strip. The room was quite comfortable, spacious and clean. Do not compare it to Venetian or a suite at Bellagio, but it was quite acceptable. One thing we really liked was that we could get up to the room quickly from the casino and did not have trouble finding our way around.

We ate twice at Coco Palms. The food was OK, but the service was really slow and the quite rude at times. Sushi King was wonderful (look in the magazines for 10% off coupons).

I did not get a good feeling in the casino. It seemed dark, the ceiling is low and the smoke often bothered me. My luck was not good at Stardust so that can do a lot to tarnish my view. I had much better luck across the street at Riviera.

One good thing about the Stardust is that the Peppermil restaurant is right across the street. On the whole, my wife and I came away having had a very good trip after staying at Stardust.
