This may be a silly question, but we are making our first trip to Vegas next week, and I was wondering if there is a better side of the plane to sit on to see things (hotels/casinos/landmarks) from the air. smile.gif

It depends on where you are flying from. One trip from Dallas we flew over the Grand Canyon. Another from Denver we did not. When you check in at the desk, ask the ticket agent about it they sometimes have info. You can always ask the flight attendant when you get on the plane. I have found that if you ask nicely they are happy to accomidate you if they can.

Most often we arrive on runway 25L or 25R which puts the good strip view forward and out the right side. Once we got 1L which puts the strip forward on the left. Everything depends on the weather and traffic routing so sometimes you don't know until late in the flight where you will be landing.

So, if I were a bett'n man... and I am... I'd go for the right side (seat A=bad, seat F=good)

Wow.....never would have thought of this. And as I fly Southwest Airlines, I pick my seat when I get on the plane . . . I'll be sure to ask the flight attendants as I board. Thank you for an awesome idea! :)

I don't know if this will help you at all because I don't know which direction you are flying into LV, but when I flew from Boston, I was sitting so that when I was facing the front, I was on the right side of the plane. We flew in at night time, and let me tell you!!! The view was just incredible! Also awesome was we left at night time, and as we were taking off, I looked out the window and saw the Bellagio fountains doing their thing...what an impressive site!

I can't wait until we fly in on our first visit from The UK.

As well as having a window seat, the seat mounted TV monitors have a channel for a camera pointing straight down, another for a camera mounted to see the pilots view and a GPS map showing exactly where you are smile.gif

Aye, LV at night must be unreal from the air - shame I can't get my better half on anything less than a 200 people jet

View from a 200 people jet is awesome too, day or night, left or right.

Uh folks,

I don't mean to sound like a weenie, but it doesn't matter one bit where you are coming FROM. All the airplanes land in the same direction depending on which way the wind is blowing.

But the sights have always been on the right when I've flown in...
