Right now I can get a rate of $69 at Ballys (Sept 5-9) directly from the Ballys site and $62.10 thru AAA. Anyone know of an advantage of booking directly thru Ballys instead of saving a few dollars thru AAA? I'm going to book my room this week. By the way - the room rate went down $10/night since last week! I haven't been able to find any better deals yet for Ballys.

Benefits of booking directly--no penalty to cancel (so if the rate goes down even more, you can take advantage of the cheaper prices) And if you're a gambler, if you qualify for any comps they could take the room off your bill. If you pre-pay/book through a consolidator, that won't be the case. For $7 difference, I'd book through the hotel.
Try booking directly and saying you can get a better rate through AAA. Never hurts to scheme... Who knows, they may beat that for you!

Book directly and ask them what the rate is for a AAA member.

Why didn't I think of that?! Thanks - I'll call Ballys direct and ask for the AAA rate. I'll keep you posted!!
