"A small off-Strip casino that had entertainer Wayne Newton among its original investment group will close at the end of October to make way for future development by the gaming industry's largest company.
In March, Harrah's Entertainment purchased the 166-room Bourbon Street and several surrounding parcels totaling eight acres as a potential land investment."

Looks like Harrah's is making a land grab. They also bought the strip mall which contains Battista's Hole in the Wall

Good riddance to Bourbon Street. That place should have been shelved long ago....What a dump. Where will the Strip “down and outers” hang out now?
The unfortunate thing though is that Harrah’s owns the land parcel now. That just doesn't translate into good news for the average Vegas visitor, does it?
Maybe they (Harrah’s) will “pave paradise and put up a parking lot”. I just don’t like their Vegas approach. I don’t think I’m the only one though, am I. :(

They should tear it down and build something cool there, then I'll go.

Put me down for a parking lot/garage for whatever they are going to do with the Ballys/Horseshoe property.
It doesn't look like there is much else you can do with all of that property.

The $7.77 Steak and Lobster was pretty decent. I'm not sure what kind of lobster it was, but the steak definitely came from a cow.
Other than that, not much to miss.

From the Las Vegas Sun.
Harrah's purchased the property, located on Flamingo Road just off the Strip, in March for about $61 million.
Most recently, a group of investors purchased the Bourbon Street for about $11 million in January. Investors including a Dallas real estate owner and Reagan Silber, a California-based investor and poker player, planned to redevelop the property.

From what Vegas locals have shared with me, the parking lot around Bourbon Street is notorious for drug dealing and prostitution.
You hate to see these old relics go in favor of a condo, but in this case it's probably for the best.

Bourbon Street was my 1st LV hotel stay. That was 8 years ago. Though I am not happy about the owners, I am happy to see it go.
Any chance of dynamiting that Steve Wynn abomination up on the North Strip.
Most over-hyped hotel ever...ever.
