I know when I come to Vegas I just get the feeling. You know, THAT feeling. I know you all get it too, because if you are part of this board you really are a Vegas addict just like me. Question is, do you still get that feeling when living in Las Vegas instead of just visiting?

Johnny--
Sadly, the answer is No. Now that I'm here, I view The Strip as two things--a means to an end, and a huge obstacle to get around while fighting traffic. However, when I'm coming home at 4 am and it's still dark, and I'm driving down Eastern from Sunset to Russell and can see the entire Strip lit up in all it's glory from Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere, I still think it's pretty cool.
I only get the 'Vegas excitement' when I have friends coming to town--because then I can goof off, drink, laugh, and play tourist. Otherwise I'm busting my ass working...

Surprisingly, I still get it, usually, when I least expect it.
You become accustomed to seeing the strip on a daily basis, but every now and again. It still gets me. Sometimes, while driving to work in the morning. Others, while cruisin' down 15 or when I catch a glimpse from the outskirts of town. You never know when it will hit you, but I love it when it does.
I agree with Mikey, the best is playing tourist when friends come to visit. It can be exhausting though, especially when trying to juggle work and play.
What I miss most about being a visitor is the anticipation of the trip. That's one of many reasons I love this message board.
