View Full Version : Pubcrawl "After Party"
I was thinking....
I had a few people that cancelled on me and I have a two room suite at the Plaza all to myself.
So, I guess this is an open invitation to the "After Party" up there Thursday night/Friday morning... If everyone brings a bottle of something (and I should have a few things of my own... hee hee) That would just be icing on the night... I just need to order another fridge so we can store the extras...
Let me know!!!

I won't need the fridge, but plenty of ice for the cascading rivulets of Stolichnaya.

He actually thinks the so-called "extras" will be hanging around long enough to need a fridge?
I don't Think so...
Damn... bunch of savages we are....
Ice, Kikky, Ice... heh heh heh...
Wow, maybe a blender should be in order as well!

Jer, you are planning on refrigerating your leftover ice? You are weird, man. LOLOL
Nope... The one we had last time had a place for ice... I hate having to "stumble" to the machine each time....
Its a time saving issue! And a reason for me not to forget where my room is!
And I hate warm beer....

Patti, I had that exact same feeling last year, and is why I made damn sure I am IN for this year. And next year!
And... we've managed to finagle at least one additional partier. I still have a spare reservation at Orleans for 3/16-3/20, so why don't you come along for the fun??

I'd like to make this after party just to see Vegas Jer recreate his "mattress temper tantrum" so beautifully described for us in his last "TR."
Better than a bed dance, eh, Mikey?

I can only try Jack... Fueled by my alochol and anger, it was an oscar like performance...
And BC, knock on the door when you get there, but don't say "Housekeeping", or I might have to go Chris Farley on you...

Man that sounds perfect...no matter how drunk I get I don't think I will have a problem stumbling back to MSS. Breakfast on me at MSS buffet the next morning for those who can make it.

Thank you for the offer Steve, although I can't say for sure whether I will take you up on it. The way this thing is looking right now, breakfast could very literally be "on" you if I'm not a little careful!
Sweet Steve! The more the merrier...
Trying to figure out if I should buy the booze here and bring it or just wait until I get there...

I have a feeling I'm going to have to do some shopping at ABC store downtown to pick up sweet & sour, lime juice and Grand Marnier to go with "Mutha" (http://community.webshots.com/photo/280168629/285284203Wxjmcz)

Jer, you have a coffee maker, whipped cream and creme de menthe to go with the Jamesons? graemlins/laughing.gif
Now all we need is a disco ball, fog machine and Vegashost to bring his DJ setup...

I'm gonna need a babysitter for MM2. After the week I've had, I plan on going on a full-on ten-years-younger-on-Spring-Break-bender. Gonna get a magic marker and write on my chest my name, address, phone number, blood type, and next of kin.

Speaking of VH, is he joining in on the festivities?
"I love it when a plan comes together!"
And no, no whiskey in the coffee... An irish car bomb or two could make an appearance though!

Anyone bringing some Baileys to go with the coffee?
If not, I'll have to add some to my shopping list...

I guess he's pretty busy at Paris! Hope he makes it!
I know we all keep talking about the alcohol factor here, but are we eating anytime?
Maybe we should focus on some sort of food?
Please be gentle in your responses!!!!

Food has to happen, or someone's going to to be seriously in a world of hurt (probably me). My plan is to put a small something in the bottom of my tummy at the brewpub, and graze as needed (based on availability) throughout the evening.
Some of the places we're going to hit in the crawl serve at least noshes/pupu/appetizers, right? (heh, look at me, not even 6:30am and I'm tri-lingual... Yiddish, Hawaiian and English! graemlins/goofy.gif )
You mean old doritos and pork rinds don't work? Ooops, college flashback...

I'd prefer to stop by the Fremont and get some saimin. Mmmmmmm! That's actually going to be lunch on Wednesday I think, too!
As Forest Gump says..."I'm not a smart man...."
What the heck is saimin?
RamBill
03-04-2005, 06:57 AM
Let's see......Shrimp cocktails at the Golden Gate followed by deep fried twinkies.......

The nice thing about crawling down Fremont is that there ARE plenty of places for a quick nosh/pupu/snack and you don't have to walk 3 miles from the street/casino entrance to get there graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
I would recommend those sharing tight quarters NOT to eat Binions chili or ham n' beans if they're back on the menu. Taste great, but your friends won't appreciate the flavor a few hours later....

It's more or less ramen noodle soup with stuff added to it. I love it probably more because I have fond memories of having it in Hawaii then because of the dish itself. It's a simple, satisfying meal.

I stopped eating that mess when I got out of college!
Of course, I may have to start again...

Saimin is great hangover food. The California has a good place upstairs near the crossover bridge. The small with Won-tons is plenty.

I would argue about a stout, as well as a hefeweisen, being countable as true nourishment as well as a porter.

No, I don't think so. The Cal website says that the Cal Club snack bar is near the Ogden & First St entrance near the slots and table games and the place I'm thinking of is upstairs across the hall from Lapperts and near the walkway to Main Street Station--none of the restaurants on the website look like it, so it's either not there or not listed or the descriptions just don't match so I can't identify it from my drunken memory....

Well, I'll accept stout (I meant to write Guiness, which is a stout, so I screwed up :D ) but I don't know about hefeweisen. Guess it would depend on how much particulate matter there is. But then, I'm not gonna be there for MM so you can make up your own rules graemlins/biggthumpup.gif graemlins/beerchug.gif

Since Lappert's is not listed in the "dining" selections, I'm assuming that the shops in that corridor are independent contractors. I remember the place you're talking about. Now, to find it's name, provided it still exists (worst case scenario - I'll post an answer about 17 days).

Our doctor isn't going to be in attendance is he? I think I'll pass on the deep fried heart attack, and just settle for the scoop of artery-hardeners instead. I have too many nice new clothes that I won't fit into if I go down that road.
But Kauai Pie is hard to pass up, I will admit!

It'll be my first major activity in town...and heck CK, you need to eat what you want...doctors are far from healthy people.
