I have a small screen printing shop set up in my garage. I mainly do company shirts for building contractors, etc. I plan to set up a website and sell Vegas related t shirts on the net, altho I am slow getting that off the ground. Anyway, It looks like there could be a decent sized group going to MM this year. If some one has a design idea for a "Comemorative March Madness" T shirt, or any other Vegas get together, I would be happy to print them at cost. This offer is only extended to board members, and as long as I am not stepping on somebody elses toes. graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

I was wondering - Is there anyway we can buy a shirt even though we aren't attending the Madness ?? I would love to support the cause in anyway & also I will be there in spirit! smile.gif

How about that pic of Mikey with the cans stuck to his head (see the "pic of sin" thread) for the MM shirts- he may not have been in Vegas, but it sure has that Vegas spirit about it.

If there is enough interest, (like a dozen or so) We can put something together. I have access to a killer freelance artist/cartoonist. If Mr. Mikey consents to being the "MM Poster child" I can have my artist draw up a characture (sp?) I can do shirts for any kind of get-together, not just MM. Because I am donating my time to a such a worthy cause, I need to keep the design fairly simple. 2 - 3 colors max. The T-Shirts would probably run about $5.00 each(ish)

I suspect oyu'll have to ask Mikey about a Mikey-themed MM T-shirt, but you can count me in if it flies.

I dont think the phrase "cinco de mayo" is or can be copyrighted. It would be like copyrighting "the 4th of July"....How about a cartoon of a stretch limo with "T2V MM 2004" either above or below the limo..in a "drunken" type font.. How about a Mexican flag hanging outthe window? or a very small one on the antenna? It would be understood by those in the know. Now the use of T2V I think would, and should require the blessing of the owner.

Kokobeach:

As the "Unofficial" "Official" coordinator of MM2, send me a message with approximate costs. I know of 20 of us who have signed on for the buffoonery. They would be great to hand out at the MM2 Official No Limit Hold 'em Tournament!

All of you who are planning to attend and have not yet voted for which nights you'd like to have the limo ride and party on, please do so. The poll closes next week and I will start the reservation process in January.

Hey Bill. Unforntunately, I wont be attending MM. We are going in 4 weeks WOOHOO!! graemlins/beerchug.gif And again in May for the Hardware show. graemlins/biggthumpup.gif Then proably again in September. graemlins/beerchug.gif So, a March trip is kinda outa of the budget. As the Unofficial official, throw in some design ideas. I'm not charging any art fees, set up fees, etc, just the hard cost of materials. I doubt they will be over $5.00 per shirt. I am developing a line of "Vegas Inspired" T-Shirt designs for a soon-to-be-open web-store (www.vegasstriptees.com) That I will be shamelessly plugging in the future. graemlins/ssst.gif
Anyway, we have plenty of time for you guys to input on design, sizes, shirt color etc. Darker colors are usually a little more, but not significant. I will need to stay within the same hue tho ie" all lights, or all darks so I can use the same color inks on all shirts.
Landa: Anyone who wants a shirt is more than welcome to order one. I just need to know how many, and sizes before I do the production run. I suspect I will print them and ship them out a few weeks before the event. graemlins/beerchug.gif graemlins/beerchug.gif

One suggestion for the shirts, or any other MM souvenirs... try "2005" instead of "2004" on them graemlins/beerchug.gif

Kikky, you know Sin, she was probably in the middle of a MM2 "training" session when she posted! graemlins/laughing.gif

Kikky...aww how thoughtful of you to correct my hideous blunder! :D

Bill, it wasn't an MM2 training session though, it was a finals are done celebration combined with a NY training session! graemlins/cheers.gif

Hey, if you wanna use my picture, by all means, go for it!

"It's Cinco de Mayo in here, baby!" was originally spoken by Dougie, I believe. I just amplified it and shared it with the world, both out the window of the limo and in trip report form. Credit were credit is due...

T-shirts would be cool, but they should probably be passed out before the fact so people can wear them and find one another--at least that's my take. I'm guessing you could get a full color silk-screen of the T2V logo with Sonyas permission for pretty cheap--and it wouldn't be nearly as scary as having my mug as a decoration.

Maybe a big T2V logo on the chest with some sort of snappy catch-phrase underneath it, with everyone's screen name on their sleeve, and the www.travel2vegas.com (http://www.travel2vegas.com) addy printed across the back.

Just a thought.

Mikey

Cinco de Mayo History
Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellman's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. The "Titanic" was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after New York City.
The Mexican people were eagerly awaiting delivery and were disconsolate at the loss. So much so that they declared a national day of mourning which they still observe today. It is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.

Ummmm....before this idea takes on a life of its own, My equipment and time will only allow so much. I can do a max. 4 color print. I wont be able to personalize each shirt with a name, because it is time consuming and can get kinda costly. As far as using the T2V logo, My equip. is a little to antiquated to do photo quality, so I am afraid it might turn out looking cheezy. I do company shirts and logo's for building contractors, bars, radio station logo work, and some dumb-ass saying stuff. All of this is basically text and clip-art or line art if I have my artist draw it up. If we can come up with a design everyone is cool with, stick with a one side 2 color print, I can keep my hard cost to around $5.00 per shirt. If it goes beyond that in design and/or colors, it could peak at about $15.00 per shirt. You guys who are attending MM decide what you would like to do. If it is in my realm of ability, I would be happy to create it.

Of course, don't forget about the Official T2V apparel and gear. graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Stupid Navy!

Like Landa, I'll have to miss MM2 because my ship will be doing circles off the coast of California. But I too would like to buy an MM2 shirt since I will be there in spirit.

If it's a white t-shirt, I can wear it under my uniform and daydream about being in a limo drinking Patron and yelling "It's Cinco De Mayo in here!" to passing women on the strip.

Just let me know how much, and where to send the check.

Koko, regardless of what we do, I think we need to have the web addy on the shirts. Would it be possible for us to purchase official shirts and have them shipped to you to add the slogan? This way Sonya get's her share (wouldn't want to cut her out, since she is the reason we are all here) and we get the logo AND "IT'S CINCO DE MAYO IN HERE, BABY!". If that is what we do, what would the deadline be for getting the shirts to you?

Kokobeach1
12-26-2004, 06:26 PM
I would like to have them by the mid. of Feb. I think Postal Service can move an Item coast to coast in 5 days or less, so I want to allow a week for shipping. I want a good 2 week lee-time to make sure I can fit it in. I will ask Sonya about a bulk purchase on shirts. It would make more sense if we took a head count with sizes, I could make one purchase from Sonya, print the text and logo, and ship them out to you guys. I will also ask her if we can drop the front chest logo on her shirts to give me more room, as I think it might interfere.

lol...day-amn...talk about a snowball rolling down a hill. As soon as Sonya and I can hammer out how to do this, we can take a head count with sizes and go from there.
