This is getting crazy! I just hope it all goes as planned for everyone. I actually may not make it, but I look forward to seeing the evidence, ERRRRRR, pictures and trip reports.

I may be going next weekend, and i'm going to be out there for New Years after all. If that is the case, i'm taking the kids to Lake Tahoe in March. graemlins/nworthy.gif

I've posted a thread in Misc Vegas titled MM2 news.

The voting has indicated the night of the 17th for a limo ride and split evenly between the nights of the 18th and 19th for a poker party. So far I have found out that a limo that can accomodate 20 people will run anywhere from 150 -175/hr with a 4 hour minimum. A meeting/banquet room is going to run 500+ depending on how long we want a room for.

I probably can't commit to the limo or poker since I'm coming with 2 friends & want to spend quality MM time with them. I will make the greatest effort to meet up at Voodoo on Friday the 18th & maybe join the St. Patrick's Day fun as well. I like to play it easy & not make too many plans but I am looking forward to meeting up at some point.

MM2 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

TUESDAY, MARCH 15TH 2:30 - 3:30 PM

How to Score Free Rental Upgrades - Yugo Continental. Location: Dollar Fastlane

A quick, informative lecture and demonstration on the ins and outs of scoring freebie rental upgrades from popular, overcrowded rental agencies. Techniques in cajoling, begging, pleading, baldface lying and the ultimate in payoffs will be shown in a live demonstration. Watch and learn how to turn that Yugo into a Lincoln Towncar. Copious Cocktails will be served at the Gold Coast Welcoming Happy Hour after the demonstration. All Events Coordinators are required to attend this lecture. Happy Hour is open to all attendees.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16TH 8 am - 3 pm

Orientation

Map reading skills will be examined as both attendee and coordinators decipher the best routes to such places of interest as Strip clubs, Grocery Stores, Liquor Stores, Downtown and Karoke Clubs. As a bonus, prizes will be issued for the shortest routes to Valet Parking.

Airport pickup is available for all arriving attendees this day. Call your event coordinator for details.

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Foibles, Fumbles and Pitfalls of the $20.00 trick. Location: The Rio Lobby

Watch and learn how to avoid looking like a jackass while attempting to upgrade your room in an overbooked hotel. Lessons on the importance of aquiring a host before checkin will show how embarrassment can be avoided.

4:30 - 6:30 pm

Whaddyamean you only have 6:5 BLACKJACK????? Location: Rio Casino.

Attendees staying at The Rio will spend 1/2 hour walking futilely around the casino looking for a decent table. After coming to grips with the fact that there aren't any, sullen members will slip a hundy into a short pay VP or slot machine to garner points on their players cards before departing for 1 of 3 open choices: Gold Coast, Hard Rock or The Palms. REQUIREMENTS: PATRON MARGARITAS OR EQUIVILANT MUST BE CONSUMED BY ALL FOR TRAINING PURPOSES.

6:30pm - 9:30pm

Welcome to the Shmooze Zone. Location: Commander's Palace, The Aladdin.

Watch while your Events Coordinator plies his host with dinner in hopes of attaining better upgrades in the future. Laughs abound observing attempts of suaveness with his 20-something host.....

Attendees are encouraged to gather at a Karoke Cub (tbd), to listen to our very own Doctor Al lecture on proper Karoke Etiquette. PATRON TRAINING AT THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY! Transportation is available. See your Events Coordinator

THURSDAY, MARCH 17TH 8am - 4pm

Unnnnnhhhh...MY HEAD, Who the Hell Are You?? and What's the Over? Location: various.

Watch applications of various hangover remedies plus devise your own. Learn what to do/say when you wake up and have no idea who that is in bed next to you. Various techniques on quick getaways will be demonstrated including what to do if it's not your room. From there, HM, the Jer and Ter will discuss the intricicies of sportsbook betting. ATTENTION! Depending on the weather, this lecture may take place outdoors and be combined with the symposium on the advantages of utilizing large marital aids to improve your golf swing. This Symposium will be conducted in groups of 4.

POOF YOU'RE IRISH!!!!!!! Location: MSS Brewpub

ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!

Join your fellow attendees for the infamous MM2 Crawl. Gather at the MSS Brewpub at 5 pm where our own SIN will Poof you Irish! From there we wil partake on a journey of Drunkeness and Buffoonery all along Fremont Street. Scores will be checked periodically in a continuation of todays lessons on sports betting. HERE IS WHERE PATRON TRAINING WILL PROVE INVALUABLE! (Hey Margaritas are green!). DON'T FORGET COASTER KIKKY'S BIRTHDAY KISSES!

FRIDAY, MARCH 19TH 8 am - 3:00 pm

Here lessons learned earlier in Unnnhhhh, My HEAD and Who the hell are you will be put into practice. Nothing more strenuous than raising one's head from their pillow without blinding pain or ordering from the poolside wait staff will be attempted today. Sportsbook lessons may be periodically applied.

WEEEE-O RIO!! Location: Event Coordinator's room/suite at the Rio.

Come and see how successfully the lessons on upgrades (if at all) were applied by yours truly. The "Bar" opens at 3:30 where attendees may apply a wee bit o' the hair of the dog before:

Jack, you have your facts a little skewed. (I'm sure they will be much more skewed than that in 4 weeks time; however...). Big Shot isn't a drop ride. It's what I call a "shoot'em up" ride. Launches you up, then you bounce at the top. This is opposed to being hauled slowly to the top where you hang for god only knows how long before they drop you. I've done only one drop ride (and yes, I was sober). I prefer the shoot'em ups, so I will go on Big Shot.

The second skewed fact is about being post hurricanes. I will definitely indulge in Patron Margaritas, possibly help out with a Witch Doctor (can we all sing "oo ee oo ah ah"?) and might even have a raspberry martini. But hurricanes wouldn't be my choice (with no offense intended towards Mikey whatsoever. Actually he's kinda cute with those cans on his head...)

Angy, nobody had previously mentioned dollar bills... this makes it much more interesting, especially considering that my budget is already strained with "everyone here shut the hell up" margarita money. Gambling money's gotta come from somewhere, right? And I'm quite sure that would be lucky money (cough cough).

Ah, but the original question does change Jack, with the nature of the ride. The drop ride and falling from the table would indeed be similar, as you implied, but the feeling on the shoot'em up ride isn't a feeling of falling but a nice pop of airtime at the top. Entirely different.

So here I am, proving once again that I am a coaster geek/freak LOL. It happens all the time, I should be used to it by now.
