Hi All, I thought I'd post this as a separate topic so the we can all check on what's happening:
My "host" is checking into conference room availability and prices for us. I told her that we are looking for a room to hold about 40 people. Hopefully that will give us enough room to hold our little soiree. I told her we would need a room for the evening starting around 8ish. We would book the room for a different night than the limo ride. Does this sound good to everybody?
She is also checking on limo rentals (party bus) and will send me quotes when 2005 finally gets here. Young Gun is setting up a Paypal account for us. When we have the exact head count and prices, I'll post how much each of us going will need to pony up. This will be non-refundable as it is going to go for renting the room and limo. Bill Le is looking into getting us into some clubs for after the limo ride so that we can continue the buffoonery. I think doing a club/casino crawl as a group would be a lot of fun.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc. please don't hesitate to send me an email!! PARTY HEARTY!!!!

Hey Sin, I'm packed! For my weekend in Atlantic City to be sure, but that would easily parlay into a Vegas weekend instead!
She said Parlay...
Where is a craps table when I need one!
Kikky-I hear ya. At least I'll get a Vegas fix in between now and then!

I might even get Two fixes in between now & March Madness... I have a December trip planned with hubby, and am hoping that work doesn't interfere (trip about 75-80% certain) and a January trip with one of my best friends booked, although that one could fall through... fingers crossed! A girl's trip would be a blast smile.gif
Kikky, stop rubbing it in!

Which specific date should I be there? We try to go the 14th for a friends b-day but we can extend that. Will the party be happening on Friday night?

What I'm shooting for (and I hope we are all in agreement) is to have the limo ride on the 17th and the poker party on the 18th. These dates are not written in stone as of yet and would be determined by:
A) Major consensus of the group
B) Dates that a conference room is available

Great! Thanks. I am making my plans to arrive on the 16th and leave on the 20th. Of course I need to check with my Vegas buddies. But then why would they say no...they are Vegas buddies...
I hope to be there.

I'm not sure how many people are in my boat, but I plan on only paying for hotels during the week and avoiding Friday and Saturday rates. Having both events Sun-Thurs would help keep my options open as far as my accomodations go. I don't know if they raise conference room prices along with room rates, but would getting the room Sun-Thurs also help keep that price down?
Beyond that, I have no concerns over the dates. I'm driving in from California so it isn't a big deal. If everyone else would like to have the poker party on Friday, it would be no problem. I can leave Friday night and maybe get cheap room in Jean on the way home.
I don't want to hear any jokes about this as I'm trying to be kind here, which is something I rarely do and I know EVERYONE will try to take this the wrong way:
YoungGun, you can stay in my room on Friday night if you don't want to pay for one. I'll be paying for it anyway (and probably not using it) so you should feel free to sleep there if you wish.

If I end up solo for the trip, then there will be an extra bed in my room as well. And I'll be nice, Sin, and not make any of my usual comments!! :D . It is kind of you to offer....
QUANDRY!!!!!!!!! I can get rt airfare and 4 nights at the ho for under $500. Should I take it now or wait and see if something better shows up? HELP!!!

Wow, such generous people.
Thanks for the offers, but there is no need. I'll be dragging one of my friends along since I don't want to do the drive by myself. We'll split the cost so it won't be too bad.
However, if RamBill ends up solo for the trip, maybe you and Sin could share a room. Y'know, to save money of course.

My latest MM update: The first training bottle of Patron has bitten the dust. The second bottle was purchased tonight.
I wonder how many this is going to take before I am ready for MM?
Kikky now if any one of us had the answer to that question, MM wouldn't be any fun graemlins/goofy.gif

Kikky, you are not preparing for a marathon. I would cut back on the Patron so the kick is still there. Manuvering one bottle is a chore, let alone the three or four you will need at the end of your training session!

Not to worry Baz, the kick is definitely still there!
Just a note here, because I don't know where else to put it. Hubby is none too happy about my going to MM, but won't go with me. I may feel the need to be on my extra-good-girl behavior while I'm out there. I will still party, but it may not be legendary.
On second thought....I asked, he declined, I'm still gonna be legendary!

UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!!!
CONFERENCE ROOM NEWS
My contact in Vegas has been trying to scout out conference rooms for us and this is what she has found....No one is willing to commit to reserving a room until January which is fine. The hotels are quoting her around $500.00 for a room without Food & Beverage. She has several restaurants that she works with who would give us a room AND Food & Beverage for that price. My inclination is to go with a restaurant!
My attitude is to wait until after the poll closes at the end of December. I will then want to get a good head count as to how many are coming. If 20 of us commit, then we're looking at $25.00 per person with F & B.

have you guys considered the cost of "appropriating" a table (vegas host COULD be of service perhaps if his connections expanded) in a casino?? unless you are getting nekked or something, it would seem the casino wouldn't care whom it was taking money from or what the rules were (if agreed to up-front) as far as what you want to do....what would be the cost vs. THE cost of a "rake" and a rental?? just food for thought from someone who might want to attend (who DOES) but can't be sure
