I'm heading to Vegas March 1st-6th with 9 other friends, ages 21-27, I was hoping that I could get some possible suggestions and info for the best places to go on the nights that we're there. What clubs have the worst and best line-ups, cover charges? Where's the best music to dance (hiphop-techno, top 40 style), to drink? To find ladies? ;)
Any info and suggestions would really be appreciated, and if anyone knows of any hookups that would be awesome! Thx

Talk to the concierges (sp.?) the info. desk people. We talked to the concierges at Ceasers the first day we were there. The whole week, we only paid one cover charges and never waited in line. They got us on a few VIP list. Each night we would call them and see what places they could get us in. The best place we went was the Light at Bellagio. It was $20 cover and a long line, but we were on the VIP list and paid no cover and no wait in line. Talk to everyone in Vegas asking for hookups, you may be suprised what you get.

My pick would be Studio 54 - they play everything & lots of people. The line can get a bit long depending on the night - But still is my favorite place. Also the Foundation Room @ Mandalay Bay. The best views in Vegas -Has out door balcony with misters, kind of small - more like a lounge inside with fire place but has lots of fake boobs, hard rock bodies & the drinks can tear you up. Those are my best picks I think smile.gif

The Beach can be a bit of a tourist trap.

nice list landa. but some of those club listings seem to be out of date.

i'm not sure if utopia is open anymore. it was one of the first clubs in vegas, but i haven't heard of anyone going there in years.

the beach is definitely a tourist trap. reminds me of the clubs in tijuana or cancun. also the worst male-female ratios of any club in vegas.

club rio is pretty dead. the one time i ended up there, it was a subdued older crowd (30-40).

never heard of la playa or cleopatra's barge.

foundation room at mandalay bay is great, but it should be noted that it's only open to the public on monday nights. also cover is steep: $30. if any club is worth $30 though, it's foundation room. just make sure not to go with party poopers who start getting tired by midnite. i did that once and ended up spending the rest of my time out on my own.

there's no club that's THE club to go to in vegas right now. they are all different on different nights. right now light @ bellagio and tabu @ mgm grand seem to be the weekend hot spots.if you're looking for mid-week clubs with the best looking crowds, most celeb spottings, and are hardest to get into, they are:

sunday nights @ light
monday @ foundation room
tuesday @ studio 54
wed @ china grille (mandalay bay)
thursday @ light

rain and ghost bar are very hard to get into on weekends b/c of the tourist rush, but i wouldnt call them hot spots. rain is good on special event nights though, usually on holiday weekends.

if you're not picky and just looking for a no-hassle fun time, there are a ton of options like rum jungle, ra, opm and baby's are all pretty good clubs and not hard to get into. you might not see as many ridiculously good looking gold digger girls and people dropping $800 on bottle service, but you'll have a good time.

Cleopatra's Barge is in Ceasar's - Not really a club more like of a lounge. I been there twice once it was really dead & the other it was WAY crowded! Its like in the middle of the place. Like I said its more of lounge, not really a club but there was ton's of people hanging out in there when I was there back in June.

I got that list from a site. I will try to find it to show all the listing again. All those reviews where from the site not my personl take on the clubs.

But my best advice is have fun, and don't worry you will find somewhere to party by the time the sun goes down!! graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Thanks for all the info, we're staying at a condo resort which under a mile from MGM, that part of strip, but I'm definitely going to check if the concierges or desk people can help us out. Besides that, like you said I'm sure we'll be talking to as many people as possible, we're not exactly a shy group ;) A friend of mine who manages a club in Arizona is flying down to meet me, he said he may have some hookups for us as well, but I'm just trying to go down with as much info as possible before hand.
Where I'm coming from (Montreal), we have a pretty extreme city nightlife, a lot of clubs, after hours, a bit of every thing, I like some of the trend spots, but I have to admit that most annoy me, a lot of people feel they have to play a role when they're in there, front with some attitude, when I go out to party, I don't want to be bothered with fake people like that. Are the Vegas trend spots like that? Or is everyone just out to let loose and party?

I haven't been to all of the clubs, but have been to several, so here is my two cents:

For that age group, you can't go wrong with Baby's at the Hard Rock. Line can be really long, though. Just being at the Hard Rock is as good as some clubs, though, so if you want to combine beautiful people and gambling, it is a must see. Rumjungle at Mandalay Bay is one of my favorites, also. The main benefit of Rumjungle is that you can go in before it turns into a club, and just camp out until after they start the cover and you are already in. It is also a 7 day a week spot, whereas some plaes are only open Thurs.-Sun. That location is nice also as Mandalay Bay has a lot of great bars and lounges to offer if some of your group is in search of other options. Studio 54 and Ra are both great, but the line (especially at 54) can get really long, so the earlier you get there, the better. Typically, if the club opens at 10 or 11, the lines don't get too bad until about 30 minutes after it opens. But, you might as well be prepared to wait in lines unless you want to get VIP passes. I know what it is like at 21-27, though, and doubt that will be a popular option. A big group, with several who can make cocktail runs while you wait in line makes the lines a little more bearable. Good luck, and let me know if you need any more info.

Logic- Aren't you staying at Fairfield Grand Desert? Too bad you're not there on the weekend- the nightclub Ice, is practically across the street......Anyway, here's a link to a list of clubs with a description to help you get a feel for the place:

As long as your said "places", I like Tabu, the "ultra-lounge" at the MGM.
Tabu Web Site (http://www.mgmgrand.com/pages/entertainment.asp?link=tabu_glance)

I know the General Manager there and might be able to help arrange a visit. If interested, email me direct. My email address is on my web site.

Thanks for all the links everyone =) It's amazing how much different information I'm compounding before my trip! I'm down to 12 days and counting, and now I think we're even more people then before, a minimum of about 12!
landa4071 :don't get me wrong, I'm not worried at all about finding parties, I just like having as much information as possible, getting peoples personal opinions, I know my crew, no matter where we go, it will be a good party!
I'm wondering what the average wait in line is for majority of clubs? To be honest, even if I had to wait 20-30 mins, I don't think that I would even mind that much, chances are I'll already be a bit intoxicated, and as long as it isn't the middle of dead freezing winter like it is where I am now, it wouldn't really seem like that bad a hassle, you can meet a lot of people in line as well, sometimes it's good to start up a conversation before actually being in the club ;) Heath: Yeah, I'll be at fairfield, I'm guessing Ice is just a Fri and Sat club? Oh well, can't win em all.
Biz I'll definitely be keeping that in mind, thank-you, it's much appreciated.

Countdown until Vegas Baby!!!

Logic- yes- oops! I didn't mention it in my post, but I believe ICE is a weekends-only club. It's amazing they can afford to be open only two nights a week!!
