Hi everyone, I've been lurking a long time but never posted. I've learned lots though and enjoyed everyone's posts, especially the trip reports! I'll be in LV in two weeks (yay!!) and would like to visit The Voodoo Lounge & Ghostbar. My friend (a vegas virgin) and I will only be there for a long weekend however and we probably won't be spending a long time at any one place. Is there any way to get into either one of these places without paying the cover charge? We're not staying in either of the hotels, so that won't help!!
I'd appreciate any info you can give me!
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the Ghost Bar, but I think if you get to the VooDoo lounge early enough (they open at 5PM) you can avoid the cover charge. The live music starts at 9PM. Don't know when they start charging. However, you might have to pay for the elevator ride??? instead of the cover charge if you go early. Sounds like they're going to get you one way or the other.
I've heard rumors that if you eat at the n9ne Steakhouse you can get passes to Rain or the Ghost Bar (they all belong to the n9ne group). I understand that you have to ask for it, it won't be offered.
If you go to the n9ne group website (http://www.n9negroup.com/http_docs/group/group_home_tp.asp), they have sign ups for complimentary admissions, the caveat is that they are for select weekday admission and not the weekend, sorry.

Last two we were at Rio, they offered a "One Pass" for all three clubs. It was like $20, which wasn't all that bad.
We turned it down, because the other offer was all you could drink at Bikini's for $20 and free cover. No brainer...
I think you do have to pay for the elevator ride, regardless of the time. Good luck!

Good luck getting anything for Ghostbar or Rain. When we got there early on a Vegas trip in January a line was already starting to form and we saw people handing over more then one $20 bill just to get in. when the hoopla dies down maybe it will be more easier or cheaper getting into those places.
