This may seem silly but when in vegas and the lovely lady comes around asking about drinks while I'm playing I never know what to order. I guess the problem is that drink names seem to be different in Canada. Can you guys help me out?

I'm looking for any sweet, fruity type drinks (I love slushy type drinks--magaritas and such but know that's asking too much)--any ideas? Last time I was there I asked for a singapore sling and they had no idea what I was talking about so I ended up getting a vodka and OJ- not too exciting.

I was thinking in the daytime I'd get coffee with Bailey's but have no idea what to have in the evening.

So what do all you guys get? graemlins/beerchug.gif

See if they will bring you a Tequila Sunrise or Pina Colada, those are plenty fruity and sweet. I am on the other end of the spectrum, as I dislike sweet drinks. Johnnie Walker Black or beer, please. graemlins/beerchug.gif

At night get a Bacardi 251....two bacardi 151s with coke. graemlins/laughing.gif Ok, it sounds funny at 3 am when everything tastes as smooth as water.

Black Russians is my weapon of choice. Kalhua with vodka half and half, very smooth if you like Kalhua, yet pretty strong.

I stick to Becks not ruin all of the next day. graemlins/yuck.gif

I think you would like a Mailbu Rum and pineapple juice. Actually, this past trip i ordered Malibu with a splash of pineapple and it came more like a shot but tasted the same, but the alcohol content was much higher, good stuff!

YUM...Malibu rum and anything is good....Malibu rum and pineapple tastes like pina colada, malibu and cranberry is good also, and of course malibu and coke is great. (malibu is coconut flavored rum incase you didn't know)

I'm surprised they didn't know Singapore Sling...maybe they'll know Alabama Slammer. Tequila Sunrise is good. I like white russians too, creamier than a black russian. Also, it's not fruity, but I've never had a bad bloody mary at a casino on the strip. It's my personal fave.

Why not combine the best of both worlds and order a Malibu Bay Breeze which consists of coconut rum, cranberry and pineapple.

Hey weddingkidz -
As a fellow Canadian who loves the same drinks you do - I find you can always get a frozen strawberry Daiquiri, which is like a Margarita, only Rum based. It's almost impossible to get California Coolers tho. I drink a lot of coolers here, and apparently Americans don't.Just tell the waiter to bring you something frozen and sweet. The Malibu Bay Breeze mentioned above sounds good to me!

Thanks everone for all of your help!

I love daiquiris but always thought they would be too much work and too expensive for someone playing the slots so i've never even asked.

I will order an alabama slammer. I've had them before and I think I remember them being pretty good (who knows for sure- probably the 10th drink of the night). I'll also try the Malibu thingy.

Again- thank soo much :D :D

I've ordered margaritas before at the slots. I usually get one on the rocks (not blended and slushy) but it's still good.

I don't know anything about drinks really.

Dan likes to get an Irish Coffee which has something to do with Bailey's I think.

Remember.. the rule in Vegas is that you always have to ask. The worst they can do is say "no". I'd ask for a margarita if you want one. smile.gif

Many casinos have frozen machines at at least one bar and so can get a frozen margarita or daiquiri. If the machine is the frozen drink only, non-alcoholic, they could add rum or tequila, as you choose, though some have the alcohol already blended in. At Las Vegas Club, they have 4 or 5 flavors of frozen yumminess--I drank mudslides....

An Irish coffee is irish WHISKEY in coffee. Yum. No Baileys :D Sugar, cream, coffee, and I use Jameson as my whiskey of choice....Bushmills in a pinch :D Fantastic winter drink!!

I meant to add--if you can't remember any of these drink ideas and have forgotten your handy cheat sheet you're preparing as you read along (RIGHT??? ;) ) just ask the bartender or cocktail waitress or the tourist sitting next to you at the slot machine for ideas :D

I also like to check out www.webtender.com (http://www.webtender.com) when I need new ideas--I like the feature where you can tell it what you have in your liquor cabinet and it comes up with ideas for you....

Ask for a Lava Flow. It's a pina colada with strawberry puree swirled through it.

coaster kitty -- I tired that while we were @ my sisters " meet & greet" those are yummy. And let me just say the more you have the better they taste. The circle bar @ paris makes them the best!
