Here's the deal. for the first time, I'm not going to be in Vegas over a weekend. I'm doing the Sunday-Thursday thing. Normally, I spend
Thurs/Fri/Sat binge drinking. (I'm exaggerating for effect. graemlins/beerchug.gif ) So, here I'm going to be in Vegas midweek and I'm wondering where to
hang. :confused:

I know Monday tends to be industry nite, so some folks should be out, but where to go, where to go? I'm 40, who looks 30, who acts
20.....my wife says 13, but that's another conversation.

I figure I'll hit The Beach Sun or Mon. Think that'll work? I was wondering about the VoodDoo lounge also ( a favorite stop in the
past). I like a place where I can dance to top 40 music. I'm not worried about Tues and Wed, I think things wil pick up, but I want some options for Sun and Mon.

So, where do you guys like to post up early week to dance and party?

(Also, what's the deal with the lobby bar(s) at Mandalay Bay? I've heard tell you can have a great time just hanging there and not going out to the "clubs". We're staying at the Flamingo Sunday & Monday, then we move to Mandalay Bay Tues, Wed, and part of Thurs.)

Can't help you with the dance clubs, but the MB Island lounge is among my favorite places in Vegas. It's a great space with pretty good people watching, and the lounge bands are usually good (no dance area really, but if you're drunk enough...). If you want to be part of the tableau, sit up at the bar. There's another, possibly hipper lounge at the intersection of restaurant row and the casino, the Coral Reef lounge. House of Blues may have something going on while you're there too.

Light in the Bellegio attracts lots of locals on Sunday night. It's the "hot" place to be. get there early if you don't want a long wait.

light is the best club on sundays. house of blues is also ok. light is very picky about who they let in. if you're not with 2-3 hot girls, it's not easy to get in unless you're kobe bryant or something. i haven't been to house of blues on sunday for 3 years, but i had a good time last time i went. not sure how good the party is these days though. drinks are probably a bit cheaper at HOB. expect to pay like $13 for a cocktail @ light.

drai's after hours on sunday is ok. much, much less crowded than on weekends. you will hardly have to wait in line and it doesn't get very crowded downstairs either. but the talent level is not nearly as high as on friday and saturday.

monday nights, foundation room in mandalay is the place to be. in my opinion, this is the nicest club in vegas. 3 rooms: house, hiphop & 80s, and all have a very different vibe. the main room (house) even has a fireplace. there are also seperate vip rooms if you get table service and have a couple grand to burn. the view from the balcony is the best on the strip. since mandalay bay is located on the southern tip of the strip, you get a view of the whole thing from the roof of the hotel. amazing. if you stay in a suite at the mandalay, you get complimentary admission to the club. if not, good luck. it's $30 to get in and you'll have to wait in a long line and have to talk your way in. i've only gone in on 2 occasions: once with a friend who was a member of the foundation room, and another time when i was staying at a suite. i don't know of any other party on monday nights.

I can't wait to see try and talk my way into light. I'm built like a pro football player (no, not a lineman! graemlins/cussing.gif So maybe I'll try the old, "sneaking into town for a little partying, hope coach doesn't find out" trick.
