It's my girlfriends birthday tomorrow and I'm taking her to V for four nights. This is my first trip so I've been reading quite a few posts to help me plan our excursion.

We'll stay at NYNY where I plan to try the $20 bribe and I have purchased tickets for Mystere and Mamma Mia for Thurs and Fri nights. We come home on Sunday so I need some tips on what to do Wed (14th) which is her b-day and also for Sat. It may help to know that neither of us are really gamblers or partiers though we'll do a small amount of both I imagine.

Thanks a lot for the helpful posts!

Try the Bar at Times Square in NYNY....it's a very fun environment with two guys playing a double piano, getting everyone involved in singing, etc. Fun place to hang, even if you're just drinking cokes. graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Go across the road to MGM to the Entertainment Dome. If you go across on the overpass, you'll walk right into it. When we we're there the stage entertainment was a cheezy-but-fun impersonator troupe doing Tina Turner, Jim Morrison, etc., including, of course, Elvis.

Or go across the other road and take the tram down to Mandalay Bay, lots of stuff there.

Or hike up to the Monte Carlo, there's a magician (Michael Close) who works in the Houdini Lounge during the week (not Fri-Sat). I haven't seen his act, but it's on my to-do list for the next trip (T-21).

And definitely cab it up to downtown for at least part of an evening. It's the distilled essence of Vegas - no pyramids or silk shirts, just people drinking, gambling, and having fun. graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
