I am planning a trip to Las Vegas July 19-23. Someone told me that the clubs are only open from Thursday to Saturday. We arrive on Saturday and the two major bars we want to go to is Coyote Ugly and Studio 54. Does anyone have this information and also what these clubs are like? thanks

If you are looking for a place to dance, and only have Saturday night to hit the clubs, don't waste your time at Coyote Ugly. It is a fun place, but not a place where you would want to spend more than an about an hour. Music (loud) like AC/DC and Stones, not what I consider dance music. The only people dancing were girls atop the bars. I haven't been to Studio 54 but I do know that the lines start early in the evening and get long.

Where are you staying? NYNY has a "fun book" that has coupons for free admintion to Coyote Ugly. The place is cool, but I would have to agree that you can't stay there all night. Now Studio 54 on the other hand....that place is sweet. Rain over at the Palms was pretty cool too.

Studio 54 is open Tues - Sat, with Fri and Sat being the most crowded/longest lines, especially later in the evening.
Where are you staying? If your staying at MGM, ask if they can provide a line pass when you check in. Even if your at another MGM/Mirage property, it does not hurt to ask.

I would highly recomend checking out studio 54. I am only 21 but that club has the best old skool beats playing all night. I love me some old school funk & they play it all.. And some new stuff too. Nice club people of all ages. Real nice. smile.gif graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Coyote Ugly was a horrible experience. I've never heard anything good about it from anyone. They just pack way to many people into way too small of a space. It was no fun whatsoever and I'll never be going back to it again, even if I had free passes.
Studio 54 is great on the other hand. Music is typically 70's early in the evening and progresses to techno with live DJ's later in the morning. Lines are long on most nights so you might want to get there early. You can buy Front of the Line passes off of Vegas.com for $30 which is a pretty good deal. Regular cover for guys is $20. If you stay at the MGM, you get free admission in their funbook
I'd recommend skipping Coyote Ugly or going for 1 drink. That will probably be enough and you'll want to move on. Try the Beach, its located by the convention center. If you like to party, its a much better atmosphere and the drinks are great.

54 probably has the best MIX of people & music. If you have friends that likea variety of music & like to dance, head to 54.
Coyote Ugly is more of a pub/bar to sit down.
