I am having a wedding in August and was looking at spending around 300-400 for about 20 people. I am checking in the Boardwalk, or a dinner at the Gran Lux in the venetian. I was also wondering If I would be allowed to rent a room at the rio and cater in some food. Does anyone know if that is possible? Or any suggestion would be great. We are staying half of our group at ceasers and half at the Flamingo.

I attended a wedding at the Venetian a week ago. It was absolutely beautiful. They had the reception at Canaletto's, in St. Mark's square. They had a room on the top floor, as well as the bar area for cocktails. It was a great setting as the windows opened up and overlooked the canals. Unfortunately I can't offer anything about how much it cost. Sorry!

You can cater food in a banquet room or even in a suite. Not sure if that will fit into your budget though.

Buffets are an option. Paris, Aladdin and TI buffets should be able to accomodate your guest size.

Grand Lux is a good choice. I've known a few brides that have had rehearsal dinners there and they were quite pleased.

Please look other than Boardwalk. Please. Not sure what you mean by rent a room, but any hotel would be happy to discuss options with you -- whether bringing food/drinks to your room/suite or in a "ballroom." But that's gonna be well nigh impossible given your budget. (We had a joint bridal/bachelor shower/party in Laughlin, and catered in lunch for the ladies and then cocktails for the whole group, and we did that in our suite.) Grand Lux is gonna be tough to make work, too.

Buffet is a possibility.

Drop me an e-mail or private message and we can discuss options, if you'd like.
