On the theory that planning for a wedding can mean a wedding in Las Vegas just as well as anywhere else, I thought this might be of interest to some.

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal last week about wedding Web sites.

The article begins this way: "The Internet has become an indispensible research tool for couples in wedding-planning mode. Everything from flower-arranging tips, to advice on how to pull off a successful toast, are just a few clicks away. But many couples are now setting up their own personalized Web sites to show off photos and replay the details of their courtship."

Five wedding Web sites are specifically mentioned, three of them with an annual fee and two that are free of charge.

Here are the links given in the article, with annual cost figures following in parentheses:

www.weddingwindow.com (http://www.weddingwindow.com) ($79)

www.ewedding.com (http://www.ewedding.com) ($89)

www.theweddingtracker.com (http://www.theweddingtracker.com) ($70)

www.weddingchannel.com (http://www.weddingchannel.com) (free)

www.theknot.com (http://www.theknot.com) (free)

When I planned my wedding I found alot of information and friendly advice on ultimatewedding.com (www.weddingchat.com) also free. In the destination section there is a thread devoted to Vegas Weddings.

I am a community leader on the Wedding Channel, and would highly reccomend it. Not only did I plan my wedding and renewal there, but I have planned (and helped to plan) other peoples weddings as well. It's a ball, and a wonderful community of really terrific people.

Which probably explains why I still hang out there even though my wedding was 3 years ago. LOL

Golf~ just on that website we found great deals for getting our flowers, we got a tux from mens warehouse for 50.00 each for everyone because of a coupon they posted. Just wedding stuff like that.

The Knot and Ultimate Wedding RULE! I've been using both to plan our April '05 Las Vegas wedding. The Knot has local message boards for wherever you're getting married (the major metro areas, anyway). The Las Vegas board is very active and I always mention The Knot when I'm speaking with a potential vendor (discounts are not uncommon for Knotties). The vendors tend to kiss a little more a** when they find out you're a Knottie!
