Sunset wedding

Have booked the Bellagio and flights now want to book wedding. Just the two of us so nothing elaborate wanted but quite fancy a sunset wedding at Valley of Fire or something like that. Can anyone help and give us some advice. Date will be Easter weekend.

With just the two of you no permit will be required; just show up, park (legally) some place you like and take the plunge. Easter WILL be a big day at the park so you'll have lotsa company. The park's phone number is (702) 397-2088. Many chapels in town arrange off-site weddings, as at Valley of Fire. (Though the park doesn't charge the chapel will mark it up for the time/trouble getting out there).

The chapels will be very, very busy on Easter Sunday so they may not be able to take care of you out at VoF (but there's always room at the chapel). Again, no reason you can't find a minister and arrange it yourself. And you'll need a witness, too -- most anyone breathing will do, but not a minor and not the minister. You should finalize your arrangements soon.

If your outdoor nuptials take you to Red Rock Canyon that area is under the jurisdiction of the BLM, and a permit is required. Permits are limited in number and cost $160. For more info:

Thanks for your help, someone has told me that it is not a holiday over there 8-13 April.

Well, Easter is not a federal holiday or anything, but some places will be busier than usual. In the South, for instance, some places are still closed on "Easter Monday" (I've lived in the South for almost 6 years and still haven't found anyone who can tell me what the heck Easter Monday is :D ) It's just a warning to be aware and try to make your plans as soon as you can to be sure you can get what you want for your special day graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
