Has anybody ever been to a wedding at the Golden Nugget? I know they don't have a chapel, but I like the idea of getting married downtown at GN(and the stinky Plaza is out of the question). I know I'd have to do everything separately, but I'd be able to use my own photographer, etc. Has anybody ever had a wedding and reception in a hotel/casino that didn't have a wedding chapel?

Elvis got married at the Aladdin before they had a wedding chapel.

I would advise against putting that much effort into planning when there are other places that will do it for you.

Where exactly at the Nugget were you thinking of getting married? They might not allow it anywhere except maybe in your room or suite. If your room or a suite would be what you were interested in doing, there are ministers who will come to your chosen location to perform a ceremony. Most of the websites dedicated to Vegas weddings have listings for ministers like that.

I talked to somebody in the catering/banquet office and she gave me a package of what they offer as far as catering and the sizes of the banquet/conference rooms. She said they have had weddings performed there, but they don't have an actual wedding chapel or a wedding coordinator. She also gave me a list of officiants that they recommend, and said if I needed them to recommend DJs or flowers, etc. to just give them a call.

There is a big room right by the pool that had something going on in it when we were there last. It's a glass room, but they'd used that spray frost stuff on the glass to kind of buffer it off, so that the whole world couldn't see inside. They had lots of trees with little twinkle lights...it looked nice.
