Hi everyone, I've just found this great site out a couple of weeks ago and just found this wedding thread. We are planning on getting married in Vegas on June 17th. We are from Canada and driving to Detroit and flying out on Americawest on Monday, June 16th. We are staying at the Monte Carlo and got a great deal of $317 US for both hotel and flight. We have our four best friends coming with us and can't wait till June. My question is to the group is to ask if anyone has been married at the Little White Chapel and what their experience was like. We want something very simple and this seems like a good choice for us. My biggest dilema is where to go eat afterwards! Any suggestions? Any comments would be appreciated and any suggestions from the group would be welcome. This site is amazing and I look forward to hearing from the group.

Thank you,

Spendo

Congratulations! Though I have no info on the chapels, I wanted to talk restaurants.....I assume you would like to go somewhere beautiful and romantic....I say go to a nice restaurant in the Venetian or the Bellagio. Mon Ami Gabi at Paris is good and not very expensive, and they give you enough food. I have found that a lot of the pricier, celebrity chef restaurants are over-priced for "art on a plate". Though those places are beautiful in atmosphere, you may leave hungry.

I helped plan my brothers wedding in Vegas. We stayed at the Monte Carlo, and he got married there. It was very nice and extremly easy. We all got ready in one suite, the bride and her friends in the other... we just took the elevator to the correct floor.. and boom... there we were. Yeah, the chapel was about what you would expect it to be in a casino, but I must say that the person doing the ceremony gave as nice a presentation as I have heard at any wedding that I have ever attended.

The only other Vegas wedding I have been to was at the viva las vegas chapel, and Elvis performed the ceremony (just 4 of us total)... and I gotta say it was a total blast!!!

There you go, just trying to offer up my 2 cents on the subject.

Hi Spendo,

We got married on Christmas Eve. We also wanted a small quiet wedding, just the two of us. We chose The Little Chapel of the West, because it was close to our hotel, the Mandalay Bay and it fitted exactly what we wanted. If you haven't made a final choice it might be worth a look.

Here are a couple of web sites we found useful www.lasvegasweddingcoordinators.com (http://www.lasvegasweddingcoordinators.com)
www.littlechurchlv.com (http://www.littlechurchlv.com)

As for eating afterwards we picked a restaurant with a great reputation, Delmonicos at the Venetian, the food was great and the prices not too steep, at least not for your wedding day. We both had a large steak, side dishes and a relatively cheap bottle of wine and the bill came to $150 inc tip & tax. The only word of caution I'd give is check when the restaurant opens for dinner.

We got married at mid-day, but couldn't get a reservation until 9pm. I can only say it seemed like a good idea at the time, we had to eat between 12pm and 9pm and in Vegas there are no small portions. We arrived late, still full from lunch, a little merry from the Champagne, a little tired from our afternoon 'snooze' and frankly not really in the mood.

My tip would be to book something nearby, perhaps at the Paris.

All the best.

I have seen Little White Chapel first hand and would suggest that there are other, nier chapels available for about the same money, or less.

Charlotte Richards (who owns Little White Chapel) is lovely however and I am sure would do a very wonderful and meaningful ceremony.

The down side to that particular chapel IMHO is it's a little bit rundown, and it's really nosiy inside. Literally you can hear the traffic loudly driving by when you are in the chapel. My experience in Candlelight Chapel was similar with the street noise being a factor.

Have you checked out The Royal Chapel at Special Memory? That is a beautiful place and the Royal Chapel is designed for small weddings.

Also, Graceland Wedding Chapel, where I am having my renewal next week, is really charming, beautifully maintained, and well sound proofed to street noise.

Another one I would suggest is Little Chapel of the Flowers. It is really charming with very cute grounds for picture taking and has 3 chapels depending on th size you want. I actually think the smallest one (the magnolia Chapel) is the cutest.

Little Chapel of the West is also really nice and beautifully maintained.

I did alot of research for my renewal so if you have any questions, feel free to post em or email me at coolpatt@cox.net.

I highly recommend Little Church of the West, the Chapel is very pretty and they do a fabulous job!! I was very happy with the choice I made when we got married there a few years ago, it was beautiful. We got married at Dusk and the trees outside the chapel had little lights in them, it sounds sort of tacky but it is beautiful! After the service I would suggest dinner somewhere at Bellagio over looking the fountians or maybe mon ami gabi at Paris. It all depends on how much you want to spend. I also recommend possibly going over to Bellagio after 9 on the Tuesday night you get married and have cocktails at Fontana Bar, the lounge act there is Jimmy Hopper and he is fabulous, there is a dance floor and you can actually have a first dance as husband and wife!!The drinks there are very, very good. Good luck, and I hope this helps!!

Thank you everyone for your replys. I already sent a deposit to the Little White Chapel, but we are actually using their outdoor gazeebo to be married in. I saw an outdoor wedding being done there on "Two for Las Vegas" on the travel channel and I did notice the noise at that time and it has me a bit concerned. On the other hand, since the ceremony is quite fast, exactly 5 minutes and 40 seconds from what I have seen on the webcams....lol..I can handle the noise of the traffic, as long as the "I do's" can be heard. The benefit to being married outside in the gazeebo as apposed to inside the chapel is I can take my own pictures and use my own video camera without having to purchase the chapel photography packages. This was a very important factor in deciding where to get married, as our best friend is a photographer. I just hope the grounds of the chapel are not too "run down", but, if they are, we are heading off to Bellagio afterwards, and I'm sure we'll get some great photography and video on the Bellagio grounds. Thank you again, for your information, it is greatly appreciated and I only have 13 days to go!!! WhooHOOO!!!

Outside in the Gazeebo might not have the sound problem at all and as I said, I think Charlottle is cool and will do a meaningful ceremony for you.

The conservatory at Bellagio will be decked out for the 4th of July, all red, white and blue.

I was hoping that for our celebration next week it would still be their spring theme, with all the pastels and butterfly's, but as of the 31s of May, it's all patriotic.

It will be beautiful, regardless, it always is..........
