Buddies wedding at the Venetian

My friends are getting married on 3/29 at the San Marko Bridge in the Venetian. The reception is at the WB Stage 16 Restaurant in the Velvet Room.

Anybody have any info about these places, good or bad? Just wondering what to expect. I've been to the Venetian many times but never the WB Stage 16 Restaurant. Is the Velvet Room just a special room in the WB? Thanks.

It looks like the WB Stage 16 actually has four "stages", that is section of the resturaunt. You might want to contact them for more info:

the velvet room is nice. very classy. when we were there last it had plush red velvet furniture, flowy gauzy drapes. a very nice place for cocktails and stuff.

BTW, if your bring a digital camera, stop by Photo Magic (http://www.venetian.com/shoppe/shoppe.cfm?ID=51) in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. They have the Sony PictureStation. (http://news.sel.sony.com/digitalimages/photo?photo_id=135432) You can make beautiful 4X6 or 5X8 prints INSTANTLY. Just think, you can present the bride and groom their first wedding photo before they leave the reception! You can also burn your photos directly on to a CD and give it to them. A great wedding gift.

WB Stage 16 and Jack's Velvet Lounge was shut down on 2-14.

It was a pretty cool place and excellent for receptions but the Venetian bought out the WB to put something in their prime location.

hhhhmmmmm.....if that's true I hope Boozer's friends were notified! They'll need to relocate their reception! It's a shame it closed, it was a cool place.

Well, finally got a hold of my friends & can you believe, NOBODY called them! But, they happened to call a few weeks ago to confirm their menu & that's when they found out. They called their wedding planner at the Venetian & it was like she didn't care at all. Unbelievable...

Anyways, everything is squared away & the reception is at VENUS. Anybody know anything about it? Good or bad?

I've been there a few times, Boozer. Very cool place. On one side you have the ultra-kitschy Tiki bar, the other room is a big lounge done up in retro early 60's style. One drawback is that there is no view, except of the walkway outside. Otherwise, I think you'll enjoy the booze (read: Scorpion Bowl in the tiki bar) and the full on Vegas atmosphere.
