Every so often I hear the casino, Ellis Island, mentioned . We go to Vegas usually at least 3 times a year, usually with a car and in all our travels we have not seen it. Where is it?

Ellis Island is a little casino "kind of" attached to the Super 8 motel on Koval. Locals brew pub.

It's one of my favorite places to visit. As long as glitz isn't important, you'll probably like it too.

Famous due to LVA publicity for their 24 hour steak special for $4.95. That special is everything it's billed to be. Ask for it specifically. Only one dining area to my knowledge. You'll know when you're there.

Picture a hometown diner with an excellent deal. (A steak as nice as your comparable steakhouse)

I usually eat two steaks in Vegas. Here and the CC steakhouse. I like to experiment about most things. Not about this.

Ellis Island is a small, clean friendly down-home kind of place.

I usually start out there after the airport before my room is ready elsewhere. They get my first $$$!

And no, I'm not affiliated with that place. I just really like it.

I want to visit because I heard they have karaoke :D

When I asked about it on this board awhile back, I got a response that it is much more of a locals casino--not that it unfriendly to tourists, but that most of the people there seem to already know each other, and it might feel slightly "exclusive"....

Not just the inexpensive food and the good gambling. Of the six brew pubs in Vegas this is the least expensive. Every beer I've tried was perfect. Don't expect glitz or glamour this place is like the ultimate locals place that is just off the strip. If I'm not mistaken it's behind Bally's.

One thing to be aware of is that their restaraunt can be crowded. You may have a long wait to get a table, and then once seated, contend with poor service.
Sometimes, that goes with the territory of cheap eats ($4.99 steak special).
The steak dinner (10 oz. sirloin, potato, veg, salad, rolls) was quite good, but I don't think it was worth the hassle.
One thing that will help out, though, is the new crap table they are installing. It is one of those smaller models that can be manned by one guy. It might even be up and running as we speak.
For those of us that don't play slots or BJ, that would atleast give us something to do while waiting for a table.
