This will be the first time we have ever stayed downtown. Big group of friends are staying downtown at GN. We decided to join them at the last minute. The prices for GN this weekend are very pricey or sold out on internet hotel sites. So, we found an affordable room at the 4 Queens. I am not too fussy but could someone compare it to the Flamingo were we usually stay. Thanks!

It's been a few years since I stayed at 4Q, and I stayed at the Flamingo earlier this year.....that being said, I don't think the 4Q room will be nearly as nice, but then again, you're probably paying a third of the price, so it's not really a fair comparison. You might look into an MVP room at the Las Vegas Club. Either way you're going to have fun! :)

It's been a loonnng time since I stayed at the Flamingo and I'm sure they have remodeled/refurnished it by now but I didn't think too much of it then. I stayed at the 4Q's this April and found it clean and well maintained. I was in the south tower, top floor which is the newer tower but I understand the other tower is similar. It was furnished in light colors and had the "standard" bed , table & chairs, TV and individual A/C controls. There was a nice large closet with mirrored sliding doors and iron (no board[?]}. The bathnoom was small like most Downtown and the lighting was pretty dim for a gal to do make-up with. In spite of the claims on their website, there was no safe and there was no clock radio which I missed although I knew beforehand and didn't think I would. Elevators were fast, clean and close to the rooms and the casino on the downside. Maid service was good and left soap, shampoo&conditioner and plenty of good towels. There is no swimming pool or spa. All in all, a great value and better than the Flamingo the last time I stayed there. I would go back (the 4Q's not the Flamingo). ;)
Whoops! Didn't mean to imply that I wouldn't stay at the Flamingo again although it is doubtful as I am a Downtown addict. Still if the situation (read price) were right I might try it just to see if the Strip has any value for me.
