Is there such thing? I know of Sonya's Ebay deals, but aside from that, is there anyway to find a cheap round of golf (< $80) in the Vegas Valley? To make matters worse, I'm looking over Superbowl weekend!! Hopefully can play on the Monday after Super Bowl on the way home to AZ!! Help!! The guys are counting on me!!

There is cheap golf in Vegas, but unfortunately you have to wait for summer to find it. Otherwise it's gouge-o-rama.

Try this link....it lists most of the courses with the seasonal rates, as well as twilight rates (your best bet for breaking the $100 barrier).

Be sure to scroll down the page, as there are breakouts for courses under $100, and other useful sorts.

don't know if this helps, but...

we were "stuck" in vegas over 9/11 and desperate to get away from the tables (ironic, no?)

we drove to mesquite (about and hour by car) and played golf at the palms course. my hubby is an avid golfer (i'm just a beginner and it was a long course, so after 6 lost balls and 9 holes i just drove the cart around smile.gif ) and he loved it, said it was one of the best kept courses he'd seen (he played stallion mountain and rio secco, and we both played angel park...for what it's worth in comparison)

anyway....the round was 25 bucks a head and that included cart AND lunch. it was a real steal for such a beautiful course

good luck

Thanks for the replies guys. We currently have plans to stay in Primm Friday night and play there Saturday morning. Right now I've got two foursomes reserved for the Lakes course. Is that the better of the two? I figured, coming from AZ, that we have enough desert courses, so the Lakes would be a little change of pace. Also, I think it was ranked higher by Golf Digest. So, we may consider hitting the Cloud nine course at Angel Park Saturday evening (would you recommend that over Callaway?), and then try out their putting course (do they charge to get on the putting course?). Sunday morning, is up in the air as is Monday morning. We're tentatively thinking of playing Desert Willow (how about Boulder City G.C.? Cloud Nine maybe too?) Sunday morning, since it would be a quick round before the Super Bowl. Monday, we're hoping of landing two foursomes from eBay, or maybe use Stand-By-Golf (ever used it?), or, if the weather is nice and warm, walk on and play Cerbat Cliffs in Kingman, AZ (we made tee times there two years ago, and, instead of losing our money because we had to pay in advance, we played in 35 degree weather!!). I guess I'm spoiled. Since we live here in Phoenix, we've got plenty of really nice golf courses that you can play in the sub $100 category. I guess that's one thing that Vegas won't be able to get from us when it comes to golf; and that's affordable, enjoyable, great, golf!! Keep the suggestions coming.

P.S. Do you guys in Vegas normally have coupons for golf in your newspaper, like we do here? Ours come out on Thursdays in the Sports section.

Las Vegas Golf Club
Wildhorse Golf Club
Painted Desert

Thnks guys!!

I like both of the par 3 courses, but I would have to say that the one at Angel Park is better...the holes take the major design elements from famous par 3's, most of which I don't recognize, since they are from British Open courses, but some you will...17th at Sawgrass (island green), 6th at Riviera (bunker in middle of green). In addition, there are 12 holes to play, instead of the standard 9. Callaway has good holes as well, although the greens are Always shaggy...the cool thing there is playing with the Strip lit up in the background... very cool. Being close to your hotel when sneaking in a round prior to kickoff has advantages as well.

oh, on the putting course...there is some small fee to play it.

I like the Lakes course better than the Desert course at Primm.

One other thing.....if you live in Vegas, I'm sure that there is a TON of affordable golf. I would guess residents pay half the listed price, if not less. I still haven't figured out a way to get ID there....

Have a great time!

T.
