cab ride to imperial palace

My plane arrives at 6:15pm Friday, 12/10. This is the 1st time that I will be getting into Vegas at night. Is the cab ride going to suck now with rush hour and it being a Friday? When should I expect to get in my room? Also I think the previous cabbies took me a back way. So it was only like $10 I think. I'm assuming that route is still open? Am I correct?

I would think they could take you down Paradise, and most of the traffic could be avoided.

I have taken the cab many times between the airport and Imperial Palace. The driver always goes a direct route (street that runs by Hard Rock, Terribles, etc). The fare is usually around $12-13 before tip. Even at busy times the traffic moves fairly well. The cab ride will be 20 minutes or so. The wait in the cab line will be long also. That is the one that aggravtes me. Have a great time!
