The Good News...... Southwest Airlines has a systemwide sale with 7 day notice ending on thursday 10-28-04.

The bad news.......the prices are up $39-149 for online booking $50 more each way than last year for my flight!

I wonder if their next sale will be lower? Even at the higher prices I cannot fly out on the date that I wanted.

I have been watching SWA like a hawk for the last 2 weeks to book flights for Jan. Out of boredom, I jumped over to SWAvacations to check package deals. Now, I had already booked 3 nites (sun-tues) on a m/c promo at Orleans for 25.00 nite. I booked saturaday for 97.00 For a total of 4 nites for about 185.00 I was looking for r/t airfare for 2 at 300.00 (which I can usually do if i watch the promos on swa) I just booked airfare and hotel (orleans) thru SWA vacations for 500.00. about 15.00 more than booking everything a la carte. Close enuff for me!!! :D

I doubt that SWA will have really good prices as long as fuel prices are as high as they are. I'm paying about $100 more for my flight in January '05 than I did in April '03 but I was happy to get it for that rate considering oil prices.

The flights from Nashville are $85 more this March than last March. :( I've been watching for awhile.

I feel amazingly lucky that I booked our next Vegas flights at $80 less than they normally are..... ($40 per person--not a huge savings, but still--since everyone else seems to be experiencing increases....)

I still expect to see a SWA sale. I follow SWA stocks, and they hedged against high fuel prices by purchasing alot of fuel before the price increase. I usually pay 150.00 pp r/t from Boise Id. Currently it is about 200.00 I did get my 150.00 pp r/t by booking thru SWAvacations, combined with hotel (orleans.) Its worth a look at.

We have always paid $200 RT to LV on SWA. This year we're paying $252.
