Best car rental place?

Hubby and I will be in LV for 7-8 days and we are planning on renting a car for one day to tour outside of the strip. Since we'll be there in June, we want to rent a convertible....I've read that the hotels have car rental places. Is it more expensive to rent directly through the hotel? If so, what would your recommendations be to rent a car? Thanks!

someone correct me if im wrong here, but when i was in vegas and was going hotel hopping, i seen the car rental places in alot of them. what the hotels do is rent space out to the rental car companies (enterprise, dollor, alamo and so forth). you are not renting from the hotel directly. what i would do is call around to the car rental companies that serve vegas. you can find a list of them at http://www.mccarran.com/ go to ground transportation.

Dollar has rental counters at several hotels. MGM, Flamingo, Golden Nugget Circus Cirus are the only ones I remember. It will cost you a lot more to rent from the hotel than from the airport. But it is more convient than going back to the airport to pick up a car. If you call Dollar the reservation agent can give you a list of all the different locations and prices. The number is 800-800-4000.
